Seasmiths Fish And Chips

Heard a lot about this little shop, thankfully it lived up to its reputation. The best chips I've had in a long time from a takeaway. The fish, whilst very good, could have been cooked for maybe another minute to really crisp up the batter, which was very light, almost tempura in style All in all, well worth 5 stars and definitely a must if you're in the area.

Fantastic fish and chips. Batter was light and crunchy, and the fish (we had both the haddock and cod) was flavourful - for once you could actually taste the fish. Chips were the right level of chunky and crispy, and staff were generous with sauces. Portion size is perfect, especially when the quality is so high. The staff working here also went above and beyond - we arrived 45 minutes late for our booked 6.30pm order because the coastal walk was much longer than we’d been told. Despite being under a lot of pressure, when we asked if we could pay for a fresh order to be cooked, once hearing why we were late they replaced our order for free. They were under no obligation to do so especially as they had already largely sold out, and it was a lovely gesture. The staff are obviously hard working and care about delivering quality - if you want a fish the size of your arm and a literal bucketload of tasteless soggy chips go elsewhere! It’s also no real imposition to order click and collect, it cuts waste, waiting time and keeps everything running efficiently. A total gem of a place - thanks Seasmiths 👍

Best fish and chips I've ever had, not even that keen on fish but this was one of the best meals I've had. Deliciously fresh, perfectly Crispy batter. The curry sauce was so rich and full of flavour and the tartar was insanely fresh with a nice acidic kick from the pickles. 10/10 would reccomend to anyone considering it.

For our last evening in Porthtowan it had to be Fish and Chips, this place was recommended by our surf instructor and friend Kitty at Eskinso surf school, advised to order via the website early, I jumped straight on, placed our food order and time slot for collection! The fish (cod) was perfectly cooked and with a light batter, the chips were in my opinion the best I have ever had accompanied with the katsu sauce which was also fantastic… by far the best fish and chips I’ve ever had… the perfect ending to a wonderful family break in Porthtowan ….
