Extremely unprofessional and rude. We needed a reference from this letting agent to apply for another property. Initially we were told to come back next week as the staff that could do this were not available. We returned the next week. Despite profusely telling us that they would send it directly to the relevant letting agent they didn't. We offered to return later that day, again assured there would be no need. They did not send it, they did not even contact the relevant letting agent to explain they were not sending it. They could not contact us as they did not take our phone numbers. They gave confident assurance that they would do it today and there would be no problem, when I raised the possibility we might need to contact them again this was reasserted, repeatedly. The other letting agent contacted us to inform us that Fletcher Torrens had not sent the reference, they had made no contact I went in to ask what happened. After all there may have been a reasonable explanation. I have never been treated so rudely. They were rude from the outset, As soon as we walked through the door. Aggressive unfriendly demeanor, glaring, no apology given, just downright rudeness. The reason given was that the paperwork was archived and they could not find it. They had a Very very bad attitude. Their bad attitude left me wondering if I was being fobbed off. It's either this or they are administratively incompetent. Completely unprofessional. I reminded them that when renting via themselves we had collectively required 4 references from different landlords and agents. One of which was required from a longer date back that the one we requested of them. The letting agent we are seeking to rent from clearly thought they were ridiculously unprofessional. We have been left with no time to seek another reference on this occasion. This is how you get treated when they are not making money out of you! I had given 1 star in response to this experience. However 5 years ago Fletcher Torrens where a good estate agent. Totally different staff who we dealt with then. (Those staff still work here, they were no available when we went in) Based on that decent service I increased the rating to 3 stars. 5 stars for 5 years ago 1 star for current service.
