Remember when you’re Nanna used to pile up the Sunday dinner cos ‘you’re a growing lad’ ? Well you get that here and it’s top quality! Honestly can’t fault it, great ale on tap and the service was brilliant. Highly recommended, this is the benchmark for the pub Sunday lunch!!

Had Sunday lunch here for the first time recently.
Pros:
one of the best Sunday roasts we've had for a long time. really well thought out and executed ingredients and cooked properly in the old way. Full marks to the chef!
bar service was quick friendly and efficient.
you can tell a great deal about a pub by the type of people who go there and all seemed rather decent.
Cons:
I'm a fan of real ales which are especially complimentary with a good roast. there seemed to be none available.
Beer prices are at the upper end of the market for a regular type of pub.
Other:
the staff aren't too happy if you haven't booked for lunch. I get this but it's always nice to feel appreciated for my custom regardless of protocol

Good grub and grog at reasonable prices. Huge breakfast served all day for £7.50. Could use a little sprucing up inside to get the 5 stars but still worth a visit. Also very central to pretty much everything in Portsmouth/Southsea.
Superb pub, lovely atmosphere, staff and the Sunday lunch is amazing. Just proves you don't have to pay an arm n a leg for good food 🙂❤️ c

Came in quite late in the afternoon, on the off chance of food. Lovely warm welcome from staff. Full, home cooked roast dinner, with a broad choice of meats, served quickly, generous portions, and piping hot. Very very tasty. Much enjoyed. Will return. Thank you
