First time trying South African food and it was amazing! The chef really knows how to cook, everything was cooked to perfection and packed with flavour. There are even exotic meats on the menu if you're feeling adventurous. Definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Lancashire.

A wonderful experience. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, giving recommendations about the menu and cocktails. There are lots of options on the food menu, with either small plate versions for a tapas style dining out or big plates for the main course. We had the Kangaroo steak with sweet potato fries. What a delight! Nice and soft, unlike any other steak I've had. Dessert was fantastic too as we tried the pineapple fritter and the crème brulee. Highly recommended, looking forward to booking a trip back there again.

Loved this place! Not only was the food exotic and unusual, but it was very well cooked and well presented. The building itself is cosy and nicely decorated. The kangaroo steak was lovely and tender and served with a delicious sauce and unusual but tasty vegetable mix. Will definitely be going back.

Tried this small intimate restaurant on a whim for a birthday meal. So glad we did South African themed with unusual food on the menu ( take a look on the website) Every dish was superb visually and exploded with flavours. The staff being very knowledgeable and friendly made for a fabulous dining experience as Danny would say on Rate My Takeaway (although they don’t do takeaway) I can only give it a solid 10.

Can't fault this experience one bit! All of the food was superb! Spring rolls and bread were lovely and the ribs and the zebra steak were both perfect! Definitely one we'll revisit next time we're anywhere near the area. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Such a great experience! Staff: So friendly and happy! Made us happy. Food: Was sooooo good as you can see. We had three different dishes and none of us had any negative comments. My friend had a cauliflower started which was so good apparently. They have a very unique menu with so many interesting things. My dish lovely. Chicken cooked to perfection & the sauce, omg! My made had some of my chicken sauce and she lovvved it too. Everything was freshly made Dessert: Ok where do I start from?? We all ordered the same one: it us called something “Melk” can’t remember the whole name, but it is in the pictures here. I am always very fussy about desserts, but this one was a spot on! This was the best dessert I have ever had in my life. I rarely say that by the way. 😂 The sponge was baked in heaven and soaked in a something which I honestly don’t know. But the meringue and apricot flavour and orange flavour, everything come together nicely. Right amount of everything. The portion was ok but I would have been happier with a bigger one. The small portions font make me happy. All in all Try this one and you will know why I am so into it. Cleanliness: Very clean - nothing to comment on. Price: Compared to the quality of the food, it is fair and reasonable. We should have left a tip really but we did not have enough cash on us. Experience: The whole experience was great. I am definitely going back,

Amazing place, small but cosy atmosphere, make sure to book in advance. Fantastic friendly service, our waiter Oliver was the very enthusiastic and explained all the dishes clearly and was a great help. The food was excellent and creative! Food for the adventurous, exotic meats like kangaroo zebra ostrich boar and crocodile depending on the season. Bit on the pricey side but quality and taste of food is definitely worth every penny! We also came again for the chefs menu for the middle eastern theme and the food was extremely tasty and just the right sized portions. The dip selection and the charred cauliflower dishes were delicious and we really liked the orange sorbet for dessert. We will definitely be visiting again, so highly recommended to all foodies!!

Fabulous lunch at The Mad Hunter today. Very friendly staff in a lovely environment. The food however was the star of the show. The beef short rib was very tasty and the wild boar burger was a hearty feast. Each dish was intelligently done and I'd highly recommend this restaurant.

Went to celebrate Mother's Day and was very impressed. A lovely cosy atmosphere was immediately apparent upon opening the door where we were greeted by a friendly, exuberant host. Although we were a little early and the table wasn't ready, we were seated quickly and without fuss. The host was knowledgeable, informing us of menu recommendations and drinks on offer. A pint of draft Italian Morena lager and a glass of Cape Heights Shiraz were enjoyed. The Mother's Day 3 course menu was chosen and thoroughly enjoyed. Falafel to start, roast lamb for main and the prune and amereto cheesecake for dessert couldn't be faulted. An Espresso Martini finished off a beautiful meal, served by friendly staff able to chat effortlessly without over staying their welcome. We will definitely be visiting again, maybe for one of their 5 course "meet the chef" nights.
