Went on New Years Eve for lunch & could not be happier. It’s worth going just for the bar alone ! The staff were friendly & welcoming. The food was fabulous, from the scallops to the crispy beef salad & wonderful creme brûlée. The place itself is amazing & look forward to returning very soon, especially for one of their organised walks that start with bacon butties & finish with lunch. Win, win I say 😋

Booked a table for 6 with some trepidation as have not eaten here in years. However what a great experience, staff are efficient and welcoming, choice at the bar will leave you spoiled for choice no matter what your favourite tipple is. Over 50 Malt Whiskies! The food; execellent, good size portions and reasonably priced. Every bit as good as The Inn at Whitwell.

Lovely place with great service. They ran out of some food that we ordered and compensated with knocking off a starter which was nice of them. Really enjoyed the food and the ambiance. Location is a bit tricky- in the middle of nowhere but it adds to the feel. Definitely will be back! Food is a bit expensive though so will be going without my young kids as they wouldn't appreciate fine dining yet.

Had a table for 10 booked at Saturday lunchtime. Service, food and atmosphere were brilliant. It's not 'super posh' but it's a very comfortable up market country pub. Lamb shoulder was brilliant. Kids catered for very well too. Dog friendly.

Great food. Great service. Great premises. Was in a private room, but they do have other rooms. The conservatory is good, too. Had the tempura veg with sesame soy dip. Fish pie was delicious and the orange chocolate torte. Others had the steak burger. Both kids and fiancee loved it

Went and sat out side to eat beautiful surroundings large play area for children. Plenty of room on the car park as it is vast. Food was what we expected good and very tasty. The place has plenty of character a great atmosphere. 😀

Love the food here! We always come for the lamb and pork roast on a Sunday. The starters are lovely too. Every time our experience is great apart from this Sunday. We were sat in the lovely conservatory style room with amazing windows and we love sitting here. All the waiters are always so lovely however, there was a particular young girl with straight hair who served us who wasn’t so lovely. As we’re regulars, we didn’t make notice of her moodiness however, once we paid the bill and gave our tip, she murmured ‘cheap skates’ under her breath whilst walking away. We thought that really ended the experience terribly and its quite unfortunate for such an amazing restaurant to have a personality like that working for them. She hadn’t cracked a smile once in our whole duration there! Other than her, the food, other staff and atmosphere was wonderful.

Nice - this is the dish I wish I had chosen. Crispy beef salad. Nice cosy atmosphere. Crispest batter I have ever had on a cod 🤩🤩

First time visit, great food, very welcoming and cosy. Booked a table for 6.30, perfect time before it gets busy. Table service was excellent. Nice mix of people. Beautiful building inside and out, will definitely be visiting again.

I was there for a Friday evening dinner with family and friends. As adults, we enjoyed indoors where there was a lady singing popular songs nicely. Kids enjoyed the swing in the garden. Staff was friendly, drinks were cold and food was freshly cooked.
