We had an excellent experience whilst visiting this pub in the city centre. The service is attentive and the original decoration is still gorgeous for a pub of this age.

A VERY GOOD RANGE OF BEERS AND PIE. SOMEDAY IF VEGGIE AND VEGAN PIES WERE AVAILABLE THAT MAY BE EVEN MORE REASON TO REVISIT BUT UNTIL THEN, THE PIE AND BEVERAGES ARE GREAT. 🔮 BECCA AND BETH DO AMAZINGLY AT KEEPING THIS PUB A SAFE, FRIENDLY AND ENJOYABLE PLACE TO BE.

An absolute gem right in the heart of Preston. An amazing (proper) pub full of charm and character. Real ale connoisseurs dream with many cask ale pubs constantly changing and many awards for their efforts. Beer prices are slightly higher than other pubs in the area but its definitely worth it! The range and quality is outstanding and the architecture is just beautiful. However, the real heart of this pub lies with the superb friendly service and knowledgeable staff, that make everyone feel welcome.

One of the nicest pubs in England. Lovely architecture, lovely staff, lovely beer and lovely customers. OK so the food was a couple of (very nice and filling) pork pies and a packet of rather nice crisps, but I'd rather that than some pretentious wankery of McCains splattered with Catherdral cheese served on a shovel you get in some establishments for the price of your soul. You're doing it right, guys. Keep it up X

Beautiful historic listed Robinsons town centre pub. The usual great selection of beers including all the Robinsons range. Friendly and helpful staff, definitely worth a visit, if only for the tiled bar.

Black Horse Old world charm. Ornate. Grade 2 listed classic heritage pub. Beer & banter. Detailed review: Situated at a stone throw distance from Harris museum and bang opposite the back entrance of St. George's shopping centre, Black horse is a vintage gem among the pubs in Preston. What greets one are the fascinating interiors of mosaic floor, tiled bar with a plethora of options and the walls which are adorned with pictures of old Preston. The front two rooms have basic but comfortable seating setup in an early nineteenth century world feel with the decor, lead bordered thick glass windows and added charm thanks to the real log fires. The music is played via a jukebox and there is no specific genre which adds a good surprise element. The hospitality is courteous and there are always some regulars at any point of time. Limited/no food options but it is surrounded by plenty of fast food joints. This place is ideal for beer and banter as life goes by. Worth a visit.
