Nice bar & beer garden,staff where friendly,was busy with builders on Friday evening,but great to sit in garden,near to train station as well

A drinkers pub ! Wether that is a swear word these days I don’t know . Pork scratchings, game of pool or darts and a couple of pints ? . Marvellous! Isn’t it ? Ron manager. Fast show circa 2005 lol 😄

Superb little boozer. Met a mate there for a beer, never been there before. I think this is what people that don't go to pubs imagine an old English boozer is like...punters respectful and polite, ok prices, lots of chatting and laughter, everyone welcome. Old fashioned English pub. Remember pubs like this from years ago. Yes dodgy music and staff were busy.
Would I go again/recommend? Absolutely... going to take more of us next time.
Location is subjective of course but for me, walk 10 mins, train 8 mins, walk 2mins for a hidden gem. Perfect!

Called in for a few drinks after completing the Upminster - Rainham stage of the London Loop. I;d say both a locals pub and a drinkers pub, but none the worse for either of those too facts. There was good music in the background at a sensible level. I drank inside the the beer garden looked good. I'd describe the Phoenix as a 'proper pub'.

Very busy. The bar was full and there was abit of a wait. Staff were lovely. There was a big dog in there which was abit scary.
Music and tribute artiste was top class. It wasn't a hotel.

Phoenix was always the main pub in Rainham village. Although it was a bit drab regarding the interior, it always had a great Beer Garden. In the past six months it has had a makeover inside and this has transformed the Pub. Well run, a good selection of drinks and a most pleasant clientele. I hope these high standards continue.

Been my local even since I moved to rainham 30 years ago, and even in my wedding day, 2 years before that, really great pub and prices are excellent, the only downfall is at the moment there isn't any food, just bar snacks, but that is to be expected, won't stop me being a regular though

Great traditional local pub. Old school landlord. Love this place. The most beautiful secure garden with lots of interesting birds and things in an aviary. Lovely food though served only 12 til 2 . Basic letting rooms ideal for digs at a good price. Right next door to Rainham train station and opposite the beautiful historic Rainham hall

Stayed on 03/10/2015 to celebrate friends birthday. Great welcome and very clean and spacious room. Great value for money. Enjoyed hearing the birds in the morning. Would recommend this pub for letting rooms.
