A proper local's pub; a little rough around the edges but warm service and a range of beers from the Hopback brewery. Loved the design of their glasses and wish they sold them! There was a customer in a "Trump, Guns, God" t-shirt so maybe not the kind of place you'd bring a date.
One of my favourite pubs in Reading. A great selection of well kept beers at really good prices. A proper pub that deserves to be the "heart of the community".

Understated Real Ale venue incl amusements. Warm friendly atmosphere. Well kept. Celtic typography upon signs offsets the flags. Please do not rush here rowdy crowd lovers... as I enjoy this place just as it is. First visit. Not my last. Bus route adjacent. Perfect escape from RDG Central.
This place I found for the first time a few years ago as part of the first Reading Ale Trail. It's a pub with a great atmosphere, the staff are welcoming and friendly; the beer is very well kept and delicious. A hidden gem worthy of a visit.
