Now this is pub worthy of a CAMRA 5* review. Characterful and reasonably priced. The other half told me the toilets were clean so thats the litmus test. Beer excellent and met a guy with a dog who had a tale to tell!!

A little bit dubious rocking up to this gaff, but as soon as i hit the bar I knew it was the place to be. Really nice people, really friendly drinks, all and all really enjoyed my halfa white lightening. Would give it 10 stars if i could. 5 STARS!!!

What I class as a proper pub. Only stopped in when visiting friends. Love pint of Guinness which is rare nowadays. Staff were welcoming and locals nice enough.

Old style pub. Like stepping back in to the old days. Would recommend to the older drinker but not for the younger generation

It's a good, old school honest pub. Bar staff remember your round and chat with you. Regulars also chat away. They show football (including many a Celtic match - but it's not a Celtic pub). All in all a good place to visit and return again.

One of Reading's finest. Delicious array of drinks. Friendly characters. Wonderful atmosphere. All a muddy daddy and son need for a post-walk breather.

It's quiet and you can get a seat. It's like a proper old small pub. You can have a conversation. Well located for bus train shops takeaways.
