Really nice place for our weekend late breakfast, 3 of us in the party including a vegan and we all managed to eat so well. Totally a must do if your craving a fry up brekkie! And if you catch the weather right its near the river for a nice walk after. Space indoors and out for seating and the only place I know these days that does fried bread for the occasional treat. We will be back when visiting friends/family nearby again.

Absolutely perfect cafe to stop at on your Thames Path walk. This is my favorite cafe on any of our 300 miles of trail walking in the UK. Many dogs and children around. Fun games on tables. Chill atmosphere. Friendly staff. Great food. Nice location. About the best I can imagine.

Sitting here eating cake and drinking tea after eating all day breakfast. Already planning to bring my wife and returning next time I am in Reading. Brilliant hidden gem well worth a visit. Thank you for great meal, brilliant service and lovely atmosphere you have created.

Enjoyed my first visit to the Mad Duck Cafe last weekend. Never knew that it existed!! I will definitely visit again and I recommend this cafe to you. It has both an indoor and outdoor seating area, and I can best describe the outside area as delightfully unusual, very nice. (I never sat inside). The selection of drinks and cakes were great, and the ice creams on offer looked very tempting. The staff were really welcoming and made our visit even more enjoyable with their smiles and good humour. A couple of pieces of information that may be useful to any walking visitors is that the Mad Duck is NOT on the riverside at Purley. You will need to walk off of the riverbank for about 2-3 minutes, and it is accessible at the side of the village hall/social club. (Sorry that I cannot be more precise, but you can use Google maps to accurately find the Mad Duck Cafe. Enjoy🙂

I love this cafe Mandy and Donna have made it such a lovely place. All the staff are friendly and so helpful. I am a Coeliac and they are so careful when I choose something to eat. They let me check ingredients and are hot on cross contamination. I can't thank them enough for giving me a local spot were I can also enjoy food. 😁

Lovely team running this bijou cafe. Delightful views across the field towards the River Thames. The cakes are delicious. My Victoria Sponge cake was brilliant.. Definitely having another slice next visit. Plenty of outside seating, widely spaced (for social distancing) and same inside.
