The Beacon Lounge

I really want to love this place - it's a fantastic effort to make something a little better in Redcar - one of the nicest looking café bars in the town and in a fantastic spot. However, as somewhere to go for a bite at lunchtime it has flaws. There's only one person making the pizzas and there's limited oven space, so the wait can be excruciating - last time I was there it was 1 hour and 15 minutes (after being warned it would be half an hour). When it arrived, it was decent, and a lot better than you'll find in most of the rest of the town, but unless you're truly prepared for the wait, I really wouldn't bother. I can comment on it as a bar, but it does *look* the part.

The food was amazing, we had 3 different pizzas on our table and all of them were outstanding. Great flavour, toppings and base! The cocktails were lovely and made very well. To top it off the staff were all very friendly, helpful and made our visit so much more enjoyable. The views were beautiful as well!
