Brilliant food. Service and staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely beer garden situated next to a canal. Perfect for a beer in the sun and to wash down some lovely grub. Would recommend. Will be going again.

arrived 1:50pm on thursday, many seats were available. they are doing classics dishes two for £15. it is worth to order. I ordered small fish and chips and three beans vegetable chilli. both meals were tasty. we also lamb and mint pie and it was delicious and plenty of lamb. there some tables by the chesterfield canal.

We had not booked but the staff was very obliging and set our table. They were all so friendly, polite and helpful. I went for the specials board and had the cajun salmon with steamed veg and new spuds and it was out of this world. It was so tasty and the portions are very good. The food was hot and we were not waiting long to be served. The atmosphere is lovely, and everywhere is clean. I would highly recommend it and will definitely go back.

A nice stop off for some pub grub in the outdoor seating area. Dogs welcome outdoors. Ample parking, a real treat

Stopped off here just for dinner on the way up to Scotland. The food was really nice, hot and fresh. I had the Mexican chicken, which was beautifully cooked, - highly recommended - and my wife had a steak salad which was also very decent and arrived as requested - medium rare. These are dishes that would definitely have shown up poor cooking or lack of care, but far from it, they were both excellent and just what we needed - tasty, nutritious food. The service was great. We didn't sample much of the bar but they had real ales on and the red wine was good. Lovely atmosphere.

The food here was above expectations. The mixed grill was excellent and plentiful. I had med rare steak and that was cooked to perfection. This pub also keeps a good pint. Would recommend a visit

A cosy and busy canal-side pub with traditional food. From the menu I can recommend the vegetarian lasagna and fish and chips, but everyone around us cleared their plates which is a good sign. Good service and a reasonable wait for food, I really liked how attentive staff were, it makes such a difference. As a side note, toilets were lovely, clean and fresh smelling lol.

Lots of seating. Ground floor and lower floor. Small parking lot, but didn't have an issue finding a spot. Beautiful riverside seating and eating area. We ordered tomato and basil soup with ciabatta bread, Mexican chicken breast, and mixed grill. The bread, came with the soup, and it was warm and butter was soft. The tomato soup itself was thin, made with water and crushed/pureed tomatoes and flavour was lacking, I added pepper for a kick. The Mexican chicken had spicy jalapeños, they had a good kick, dish was alright but good and spicy. The mixed grill had good steak and chicken, pork was too salty, sausage lacked flavour, and the egg was tasty but was not seasoned. The staff were very patient, kind, and helpful even though we were eating with a 2 year old! The bathroom was clean. Good date night or location to hang with coworkers!

Great food, good quality, little on the pricey side, but totally worth it. Male team member in a white shirt could have been friendlier, very transactional and considering the location and price, could have added to the experience. The rest of the team were great and a lovely pub with a great location.
