Lovely place, staff polite, helpful. Went with my mum for an afternoon tea and it was lovely. Happy they actually had smoked salmon on the sandwiches. Scones delicious. Cakes fabulous.

We visited The Glasshouse Retford Notts as a treat organised by my sister-in-law for a Groupon vouchers gift for afternoon tea. The staff are friendly and very well organised. The afternoon tea was delicious and very nice hot drinks provided within the price. We have three choices of sandwiches a a set menu. I did ask that my friend, who is a vegetrian, had the choice of a cheese and tomato sandwich with her order and had a egg one too. The scones were delicious served with jam and/or cream (as you wished) choc brownie cake, carrot cake and bakewell slices. The portions were generous and we asked for a take-out box to enjoy the spare cakes at our homes. The only thing I would suggest is that there is a little side snack of crisps or sausage rolls to accompany the main event. We will re-visit here to enjoy a hot meal next time and look around. There are a lot of shops in the town centre and a good market in Retford.

We love this place. We got a Groupon voucher for an afternoon tea. We were that impressed we have continued to come back. We travel an hour just to come to the glass house. The food is gorgeous and this place has converted us both to carrot cake. The carrot cake here is beautiful!! It's a modern well looked after building. Definitely worth a visit! X

We had the afternoon tea. It was fine but personally we both would have preferred a little more savoury, a little less cake. So perhaps a few more sandwiches or a couple of sausage rolls. With the very nice scones/jam/cream, the amount of cake was just too much.

I love this place ❤️ been several times with friends and family. The afternoon Tea is gorgeous 😍 mixed sandwiches, scones, 3 different cakes and tea or coffee refills if you have standard, or a glass of prosecco each if you have the sparkling afternoon tea. Regularly on Groupon so you can get great deals if its just out your budget. Fantastic idea to give as a gift. Very pleasant staff, homemade cakes, a lot of thought has gone into the decor, its very aesthetically pleasing, rustic and cosy feel with the wooden tables. Outdoor seating, toilets, upstairs seating, large groups catered for, full bar, event nights .... It has it all 💕

Great little hidden gem, and dog friendly! My whippet and I visited one cold, misty November afternoon for a pot of tea and a toasted teacake. The only thing that would make it better is if they offered dog friendly refreshments such as puppacino or dog ice-cream.

Came today for afternoon tea for two. Had a voucher. Activity company or one of those. Food lovely and staff nice. Table all set out nice. We had two coffees and two pots of tea. We were charged for the second drinks. Seen on here others had two drinks included. Only disappointing bit. Thought was included. Ian

Very well looked after here. It was a Groupon afternoon tea, which was delicious, and we had 2 cups of coffee ( I had expected to pay for the second cup - but it was all in). Delicious sandwiches, scones, and 2 cakes, with a absolutely delicious cheesecake. Personally, I'm not sure where the idea of so much 'sweet' food came with these teas, I would far prefer more sandwiches, or a cheese roll, and forego some of the cake .. but that's just my observation, this was splendid. Lovely atmosphere, on a very gloomy day. Warm and inviting. Staff very attentive. A quick look at their usual menu ... and we're definitely going again. Must book, they were turning folk away as all tables were full. Great.
