Had a lovely lunch at the Opera Rooms. Such friendly staff and delicious food. Quiche salad and yummy scone jam and cream for desert. A Hidden gem. Would highly recommend
Went here for a beauty and the beast afternoon tea and it was amazing! Definatly worth visiting. Lovely food and staff are so welcoming and can't do enough for you.
Visited today with my mum, sisters and my twin 3 year olds. The lady that served us was very welcoming and accomodating of the children. She found the boys toys and coloring stuff to keep them entertained. The order for the childrens food was sorted first which is always very helpful. Nothing too much trouble and perfect service. The food was lovely. Music really relaxing. A really nice place to spend some time with family. Thank you we will be back soon!
Lovely place. Amazing food. I went in with my sister, she had booked it as a birthday treat. Lovely extra touches, birthday banner, confetti on the table and a candle on my cake. Fab experience will be returning x
Beautiful meal and lovely surroundings well done to all the staff especially the chef, well worth a visit.
Had an amazing afternoon tea laid on for my sisters 70th birthday. Lynda and her helpers made it a wonderful day for us. The room was set out beautifully and the food was amazing. All of the staff were both attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend the opera rooms for not only a family event but for lunch as well
Omggg the afternoon tea is the best I had ever!!! I really enjoy it! Sandwich is fresh, tea is amazingg, especially I love the view the I sit upstairs !!!服務很親切,食物很新鮮,想要體驗道地英式下午茶,一定要來!!!
A beautiful place, great food and most helpful staff. A real hidden gem!
We had another amazing family meal at the Opera Rooms today. The staff were amazing with the children in our party, providing a suitable menu suggestions for each child and going above and beyond to create a desert to please a chocolate-loving 4 year old. Adults who had travelled to join is were very impressed with the quality of the food and the friendly welcome they received, saying they would return for cake if they were passing the area!
I have been twice to the bottomless afternoon tea its beautiful, staff are brill, will definitely come again soon 😊
Had lunch with my mum here on last Wednesday. Beautiful building, friendly attentive staff and our meal was lovely. Already arranged to go back for afternoon tea, would highly recommend.
Excellent afternoon tea and excellent customer service! Would recommend a visit to anyone.
Had birthday Afternoon Tea and prosecco reception here on Saturday for 25. Excellent, friendly service and lovely food. Thank you very much Lynda and the team working Saturday 4-6. Definitely recommend.
Lovely place, staff polite, helpful. Went with my mum for an afternoon tea and it was lovely. Happy they actually had smoked salmon on the sandwiches. Scones delicious. Cakes fabulous.
I love this place ❤️ been several times with friends and family. The afternoon Tea is gorgeous 😍 mixed sandwiches, scones, 3 different cakes and tea or coffee refills if you have standard, or a glass of prosecco each if you have the sparkling afternoon tea. Regularly on Groupon so you can get great deals if its just out your budget. Fantastic idea to give as a gift. Very pleasant staff, homemade cakes, a lot of thought has gone into the decor, its very aesthetically pleasing, rustic and cosy feel with the wooden tables. Outdoor seating, toilets, upstairs seating, large groups catered for, full bar, event nights .... It has it all 💕

We had the afternoon tea. It was fine but personally we both would have preferred a little more savoury, a little less cake. So perhaps a few more sandwiches or a couple of sausage rolls. With the very nice scones/jam/cream, the amount of cake was just too much.
Very well looked after here. It was a Groupon afternoon tea, which was delicious, and we had 2 cups of coffee ( I had expected to pay for the second cup - but it was all in). Delicious sandwiches, scones, and 2 cakes, with a absolutely delicious cheesecake. Personally, I'm not sure where the idea of so much 'sweet' food came with these teas, I would far prefer more sandwiches, or a cheese roll, and forego some of the cake .. but that's just my observation, this was splendid. Lovely atmosphere, on a very gloomy day. Warm and inviting. Staff very attentive. A quick look at their usual menu ... and we're definitely going again. Must book, they were turning folk away as all tables were full. Great.
Amazing place. Super friendly atmosphere. Helpful staff and dog friendly amazing food and drinks.

Lovely place in the centre of Retford. We attended their Christmas Market event (as stallholders) this weekend. We had a lovely time and were well looked after. The staff are lovely and the hot chocolate was to die for.
We'd like to come back and enjoy a breakfast/brunch one day... they looked amazing too. Well worth a visit 😃
We love this place. We got a Groupon voucher for an afternoon tea. We were that impressed we have continued to come back. We travel an hour just to come to the glass house. The food is gorgeous and this place has converted us both to carrot cake. The carrot cake here is beautiful!! It's a modern well looked after building. Definitely worth a visit! X
Myself and my partner went recently for the afternoon tea and it was lovely! The scones were delicious! The staff were attentive and really made us feel welcome, I highly recommend it!
We visited The Glasshouse Retford Notts as a treat organised by my sister-in-law for a Groupon vouchers gift for afternoon tea. The staff are friendly and very well organised.
The afternoon tea was delicious and very nice hot drinks provided within the price. We have three choices of sandwiches a a set menu. I did ask that my friend, who is a vegetrian, had the choice of a cheese and tomato sandwich with her order and had a egg one too. The scones were delicious served with jam and/or cream (as you wished) choc brownie cake, carrot cake and bakewell slices.
The portions were generous and we asked for a take-out box to enjoy the spare cakes at our homes.
The only thing I would suggest is that there is a little side snack of crisps or sausage rolls to accompany the main event.
We will re-visit here to enjoy a hot meal next time and look around. There are a lot of shops in the town centre and a good market in Retford.
Came today for afternoon tea for two. Had a voucher. Activity company or one of those.
Food lovely and staff nice. Table all set out nice.
We had two coffees and two pots of tea.
We were charged for the second drinks. Seen on here others had two drinks included. Only disappointing bit. Thought was included.

Great little hidden gem, and dog friendly! My whippet and I visited one cold, misty November afternoon for a pot of tea and a toasted teacake. The only thing that would make it better is if they offered dog friendly refreshments such as puppacino or dog ice-cream.
Five of us went for a hen party. We had the bottomless brunch. We couldn't fault it. Food lovey and the drinks kept flowing. Love place. Would highly recommend . Cant wait to go back .
I've visited here a couple of times previously and decided to treat my friend to afternoon tea before her baby arrives. We'd never had afternoon tea here before, but the previous meals I've had have been delicious. We booked a table for shortly after when dining inside was allowed. I had also mentioned when booking that my friend was vegetarian and they were able to cater sandwiches to that effect.
On arrival I was late due to bringing my young son, and my friend going to the wrong place, something the staff were so understanding about. I had neglected to inform them that I would be bringing my son (short notice change of plans) and they had seated us upstairs but I had the pushchair. They quickly and with no fuss, arranged us a table downstairs instead.
We waited a little while for the food to come out, but the staff were very busy (it was fully booked) and were attentive taking our drinks order and apologising for the wait. They even brought some toys to the table for my son to keep him entertained.
When the food arrived it looked smaller than afternoon tea I had had elsewhere, but don't let that fool you, by the last cream bun (and I was sharing with my son!) me and my friend were very full (maybe that was something to do with our unborn children taking up room, who knows?!!). All the food was lovingly made and tasted very yummy!
One of the reasons I really like this place is how clean it is, including the toilets, there is a baby change (which I have found all too often places do not have), and I was made to feel very welcome when me and another friend spent a great deal of time here when my son was young and needed feeding back in 2019.
Thank you for a lovely visit, I will definitely be returning! I could see how hard the staff were working and I can imagine it's been full on now you are fully open, I hope it goes well!
