Lovely and relaxing environment to enjoy a breakfast on a Sunday morning. I had the eggs benedict, and the eggs were cooked perfectly and went well with the shredded ham. My only criticism was that the sauce was a little on the cold side for my liking, and toast was cold, so I couldn't melt the butter. I'm sure if I had raised it with the waitress, they would have been happy to rectify. Overall, it was very good, and I will be back.
The Ivy in Richmond is located conveniently off the main shopping street. 🛍. We parked nearby, on the green ( not literally. 🤣). Plenty of parking on a Wednesday late morning in October. The usual expected decor that all the ivy establishments have. Cosy and unique. We where looked after like royalty. Such wonderful service. Nowhere else is as good in my experience. A delicious 😋 lunch was had. Fabulous experience. 🥳
I come here relatively often and recently had the afternoon tea for the first time. It was okay! Not bad my any means whatsoever but I can’t say it blew me away. My recommendations for improvements would be to have more savory options. The selection had far too many sweet things for me. Also the portion was huge - we could not finish everything.
During previous times I went for dinner. I truly think the ivy is okay. It never stands out in my mind as food I would want to come back for - but if it’s there and I’m hungry I guess I’ll go in. I don’t recommend the Asia menu - I haven’t had anything that was actually spicy or authentic. It all felt like what British people imagine Asian food is. They obviously forgot what real Asian food is from the days of the colonization. The best dish I had here was the scallops as a main but in a different branch. That’s the only thing I would personally get if I am here
