Hanana Sushi Bar

Unbelievably good sushi. We stayed at the Orange Tree Hotel a couple of doors down, and tried take away from here. Wow! Everything was fresh, delicious and expertly made. The salmon sashimi salad was perfect, with a dressing that worked perfectly with the fish and lettuce. The sushi rolls were tasty and a good size for the price. The large platter has a signature roll that is unique to this shop (the chef proudly pointed it out to me). It was really amazingly good. Great find! Note: they only have room for six to eat at a time. Bring patience!

When the reviews said “the best sushi I’ve ever had”, I knew I had to try this place. Long have I searched for the authentic experience of a small eatery with sushi handmade in front of you. This 6-seater paradise will probably be the best sushi you’ve ever eaten, certainly in the UK. With sashimi salmon that glitters like gold and exciting rolls with enticing mixes you wouldn’t find at your run of the mill sushi joints, it is divine. For the quality of food this place delivers it is frankly a bargain. The freshness of fish is unrivaled and you will be reminded what sushi should actually taste like (hint: it’s nothing like what you can buy in a supermarket). The excellence of food, with its careful presentation, would be enough to revisit this place a 100 times, but coupled with the outstanding and beautiful service of the host - it is a jewel in Richmond’s crown. I just wish I lived nearer. (But let’s be real, it’s probably best I don’t - I’m not sure I’d eat much else if I did.)
