One of my favourite hang-out over the years. No matter what time u come here (with an exception to busy weekends) it's an absolute bliss to sit outside with the view of Thames.
The food options from starters to main are delicious.
great all around lovely food ,and a beautiful seating ,we come here for few years and WE never been disappointed well done P&P keep doing what you doing
During the summer i came upon P&P and i loved their terrace near the river, the place is gorgeous and their beer garden is a must during the rare summer days.
The ambience is fun and lively, imagine people all sitting together and laughing enjoying great drinks and food.
The place is modern and contemporary, and quite sophisticated in regards to its ambience, the bartenders and staff were engaging and friendly and i really spent a great afternoon speaking to the staff and other customers.
I did not order food though i saw waiters walking past serving other customers and i have to admit the food looked tasty!
oh and to top it off they also serve Rekorderlig Strawberry Cider which i love love love!
I definitely recommend for a lovely chilled out summer afternoon sitting by the river enjoying some drinks and food.
Ah, the British Summer time. A time of sun (insert obligatory "sometimes" joke), Pimms and late evenings in beer gardens. Living in Richmond adds an extra item to that list: The River. Richmond riverside during the hot Summer months is a heaving mass of bodies, live music, and drinking on the grassy verges overlooking the water. Par for the course is ordering beer from one of the few surrounding establishments and taking the drinks in plastic cups to sit and enjoy the sun. However, for those looking for a more refined experience, or those who don't want to get grass stains on their dress/chinos, there is an alternative. This alternative is the Pitcher and Piano.
The P&P is a stylish restaurant perched on the bank overlooking the river. The place is modern, split over two levels, with well trained staff who know how to serve good quality drinks. The price of these drinks, though, is something you should be prepared for. Richmond being what it is, the bill can rise rather quickly when paying £25 for a moderate bottle of wine. But the drink itself is not the reason you'll come here.
The food is served quickly, with fresh ingredients clearly used in the cooking process. Sharing plates seem to be the way forward, as their grazing menu is reasonably priced and the quality is undeniable. It tastes good, though the portion sizes do seem to er on the small side. That being said, this isn't the reason you'll come here either.
The reason you'll want to go to the Pitcher and Piano is clear once you see it: The outside seating. The P&P is graced with an outdoor walled patio, which in Summer really is the finest option for riverside drinking. It has the feel of a private garden party to some degree, detached and away from the proletariat grazing on the lawns yonder, yet still maintaining the riverside feel. Cold wine in ice buckets, ashtrays, sunglasses and proper chairs are the order of the day. THIS is the P&P's single biggest draw, by far. It's a place to feel sophisticated, yet still enjoy the weather without getting mud on your bum. It's really that simple.
Pitcher & Piano is a popular bar and restaurant located in Richmond, London. It is a popular spot for both locals and tourists, and is known for its extensive drinks menu, its delicious food, and its lively atmosphere.
The bar is located on The Green, close to the River Thames. It is open seven days a week, from 11:00am to 11:30pm.
The bar has a large outdoor terrace, which is perfect for al fresco dining. The interior is stylish and modern, with exposed brickwork and wooden beams.
Pitcher & Piano serves a wide variety of drinks, including cocktails, beers, wines, and spirits. They also have a wide selection of food, including pizzas, burgers, and salads.
The place is lovely, with a stunning view. However, I was disappointed that they only took orders at the bar.
Visited here for a late drink near to closing time. 😀
Good choice of beer, spirits and cocktails.
Nice dark decor inside and fairly large beer garden.
Good, friendly service.
We booked a private area for about 35 people for the night before my sons wedding in Richmond as we were all stating at The Petersham Hotel. I spoke to the manager on the night and asked for all expenses, food and drink to go onto my credit card. I was assured that this was not a problem and told that they would like to update me on spend when it hit certain amounts. This was appreciated and done very privately. I can't praise the staff highly enough!!! I work in the restaurant sector and have done for over 40 years. The staff at Pitcher & Piano are a credit to the industry. So professional and hard working whilst maintaining a friendly and most welcoming atmosphere throughout. Everyone commented on how good this experience was. Great food and drinks and great value. Thank you to everyone that worked that night, you made the night before the wedding perfect.
Regards Jazz
The view from the bridge across from pitcher and piano. While piano did not play, did that matter? NO! The pitchers were flowing, the burger was juice drippin, the chips were crisped and perfected, and the sun room was soaking in the very seldom seen London sun. If in Richmond, soak up the river views from their patio (maybe not if raining)
Came here after looking around Richmond at all the Ted Lasso stuff! Perfect place for a good filling lunch with a lot of flavour. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, it’s a really pleasant environment both in its decor and the people who work there. Couldn’t recommend enough.
All I would say is the men’s toilets need a good spray with some air freshener, they smell a bit off! Other than that, fully recommended at any time of day.
What an amazing place to be with family and friends.. I loved the ambiance, food was good . I went there for our Christmas Lunch with my colleagues, and we all loved and enjoyed it. I think this place would be much better in summer for chilling out with friends as it’s located beside the shore of the river. The only issue I found was related to the parking. However I have found a car park (Friars Lane Car Park) which is only a walkable distance to the restaurant.
In general it was a positive experience. The staff were very friendly and approachable.
This site has just been refurbished and is definitely looking good. It is a great place for food and drinks, and I will visit again because there is the best terrace bar overlooking the Thames. Well done to the management and staff for doing such a good job in keeping this venue an exciting bar to spend some time with friends
Great service and drinks, we love going mid week for the lunch special as well as evenings for cocktails by the river. The staff are always super friendly (especially to my dog, bringing her a little water bowl) and the outdoors area is kept in great condition 👍
We were running half an hour late due to traffic, but they held our table after I phoned them, which was appreciated. We had a nice table on the terrace and there was great music playing. Friendly, efficient service from the staff and the food was delicious. Will definitely be coming back.
Great table appreciated. We had the share menu which was great. Wish you would do a dessert version.
Pink prosecco was nice but felt overpriced.
Staff all friendly
