Had an amazing weekend at the Gin Trap. A great day out Friday at Burnham Deepdale Christmas market. Then back to the Butlers suite for a freshen up. We walked down to the general store which needs to be seen. There was something for everyone. Then a quick walk back into the bar for drinks. We started with two of their taster boards which were amazing. A couple of thumbs up, a so so and a thumbs down. Friday’s evening meal was great. (We booked our table in advance and I would strongly recommend ) Starter, main and dessert. Truly scrum. The night was busy, however we didn’t have to wait long to order or for our food. The beetroot bread and smoked butter was amazing and the dirty burger was really dirty. The staff were all very attentive and were always at hand for more drinks or to answer questions. The night was topped off with a couple more gins from the bar then a quick walk back to the room (butlers). The room was perfect. Everything was thought of. Tea, coffee and sugar. Milk and water in the Fridge and there was a kilner jar full of Brownies. The room was split between upstairs and downstairs. The upstairs level had a large double bed, roll top bath, shower and toilet. The views out the window were ok, onto the high street. Saturday morning came all too quick and breakfast beckoned and didn’t disappoint. We spent the day out 1st in Burnham Market and then to Holt. We overdosed on Christmas decorations and presents. Saturday night came round all too quickly and the bar called to us. Again we had pre booked a table and was pleased as the night was busier than Friday. The bar on both nights seemed to be a mix of locals, guests staying for the weekend and families in for celebrations and Christmas parties. Food again did not disappoint nor did the selection of Gins. We managed to last a little longer Saturday night but decided to call it a night. Another great night to end the weekend. Sunday morning came all too quick again and breakfast was spot on again. We ended our weekend with a leisurely drive home thinking about a lovely weekend and more importantly when we could return but this time with friends to share in the fun. We left with a bottle of the Gin Trap Gin for a friends birthday (which I’m looking forward to trying).

Fabulous food and service at the Gin Trap. The cooking was skilfully done with every element to a dish well balanced and perfectly crafted. Even down to the homemade bread and canapés to get the taste buds going! Service was excellent and the staff very friendly and welcoming. We can’t wait to return!

Love everything about this restaurant. Stylish but unpretentious. Super friendly staff, dog friendly & food was so, so good. One of the best meals we have had in the area. Highly recommend & will be returning for sure.

Great old pub that does great food too rather than a restaurant with a pub front. Not pretentious, friendly atmosphere and good outside area with a contemporary relaxed vibe. Despite having a large selection of good pubs, we keep going back to this one. My husband is happy with the “best kept Abbot” he’s had for years. Efficient and friendly staff, prices reasonable, what more could you want?

Dropped in on our travels on the off chance we could get a table on a busy Sunday with our two dogs and we were so glad we did! Food was absolutely beautiful, so delicious, felt like a real treat. Lovely warm welcome and service from all the staff.

Absolutely lovely meal. The food was fantastic, starters and pudding especially. I had a passion fruit Tom Collins which was banging and the wine was decent. If I had to pick holes, the fish was a tiny bit over cooked, and slightly under seasoned, but otherwise nearly perfect. The staff were all friendly and did the right amount of checking on us. Highly Recommended

We stayed here for 1 night, in The Loft during a 3 night visit to the area. The room was beautiful and the complimentary G&T a very welcome touch. All the staff were friendly & helpful. Although we didn't have dinner, the breakfast spread was 5 star. Fresh fruit, fruit juices, home made granola, baked pastries plus choice of cooked breakfast was outstanding and couldn't be touched by local competitors. Only complaint is that we didn't stay here for the 3 nights 🤣 Thank you GT

Wow! Not one single fault! We stayed for a long weekend and everything was perfect. The place itself is spectacular. We stayed at the stables and it was absolutely perfect. The venue, inside and outside is in pristine condition and beautifully decorated, the staff were very attentive and friendly, the food was incredible. We enjoyed, breakfast, lunch and dinner with zero complaints. Top, top service and well worth every single penny spent during our stay. We didn’t want to leave. Thanks so much.

Just back from a few days away staying at The Gin Trap. Delightful room. Wonderful friendly service. Delicious food, both evening meal and a high quality cooked breakfast. Lovely patio / decking area to chill in during the afternoon and evening evening, and welcoming and friendly well stocked bar....and very very dog friendly, with lots of very clean water bowls!

We stayed here a few years ago and have just revisited with a one year old (plus the pooch). The venue and staff are very accomodating they gave us everything we needed and more to enjoy our little getaway. The food is first class and a great selection of drinks at the bar, unsurprisingly gin being too of the list! Get booked in for a treat.

Nice beer garden. Quaint inside. Good service and a nice pint of beer at reasonable price. Food was good but the price was high (top end gastropub prices), probably about £1-2 per course extra to what I would expect to pay
