We tour the country with dog shows. This is the best tasting and best value fish and chips on our tour. Freshly cooked to order. We look forward to it every year.

We recently visited southgate Fish & Chips in Ripon and I must say that it was exceptional . The fish was cooked to perfection and the chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great fish and chips . We have recently visited the coast numerous times and havent found a chippy as good as this.”

Another good reason why I moved to Ripon this fantastic fish shop. Visited for the first time this evening. My fish & chips were piping hot when I got home. I got a small portion so glad I didn't go for the medium as I struggled to finish them but I did 😉 Staff very pleasant. Definitely on my list for a repeat visit.🙂

Just a short drive outside of town center but easy access with road side parking and outside sitting area. The front service area is very neat and clean!!
The cod is well cooked, the batter is light and crispy. The scampi kids meal is good value and tasty. The staff is friendly and efficient.

I have only visited once, but their team are very polite and welcoming. They are very busy without it affecting their personal service. The food was well priced and tasty too. I would recommend to anyone reading this review.

Lovely fresh food cooked while u wait, outside seating, beautiful on a sunny day surrounded by potted plants, well looked after and very clean, staff very helpful, I had a fantastic fish supper.

Great location with friendly staff. A good selection of fish freshly cooked and lovely chips. Picnic benches available for outside seating. Would definitely return!

Great value and good quality. No wonder it's been awarded a winner for best chip shop by the Ripon Gazette. Had various deals for multiple fish and chips as well as kids options. Little teds deal provided 3 small haddock, 2 chips and peas, beans or curry for £7.99 - plenty for three children (under 10). Opening time is a little variable, being between 16:00-16:15. Would definately recommend this chip shop.

Always quick service, it's usually very busy so the turnover of food ensures everything is extremely fresh. I've never had a bad experience. Tonight I had pineapple fritters as well which were delicious, with very crispy batter. Definitely worth a visit.
