A wonderfully old pub full of character with lovely atmosphere.
Food was very good (ate once on a Sunday) proper well made gravy full of flavour. Staff were really nice, helpful and attentive.
Recently popped in for a pint in a winters night and it was cosy and warm with the real fires with a good atmosphere from people enjoying the beer and food in good measure.

I haven't tried the food so i cant rate it. The pub is very characteristic, with an old fashioned style takes everyone in a time trip. I loved the decor, and the fireplace. Lovely service.

What super friendly people! An absolute gem of a place in Ripponden, serving tasty food at reasonable prices. It's warm cosy atmosphere draws you in from the moment you step inside. I'll definitely be frequenting this delightful pub.

I can't recommend this place enough. It's brilliant looking old building.
Went for Sunday lunch with the wife and kids.
Great beers and gins. Portion sizes were huge and the food was amazing. Loads of veg to go round and cauliflower cheese comes as standard. The staff were great, didn't leave us hanging about.
It's probably the best roast dinner I've had. Will be going back.

Perfection in a pub. Dating back to 1307, serving really delicious ales. I’ve visited here for lunch and evening meals. Lunch was spectacular and evening meals were way beyond what you’d expect from pub food. It was an excellent menu with offerings for everyone

A fantastic Sunday Roast. Outstanding meat, everything else cooked and seasoned perfectly and full of flavour. You’d have to go to the three Acres or Shibden Mill to match it… and then you’d probably pay extra for ‘sides’ of this quality.
As a pub that’s been there for over 800 years it’s full of character and the staff are all friendly and helpful. Four adults had 2 courses and one or two drinks each for £30 per person.
