Had to write after an amazing meal this evening. We were there for "date night" and the restaurant didn't disappoint - lovely cosy candle lit table, steaks were perfectly cooked, and we sat in the lovely fancy new garden bit after our meal. It actually felt quite magical with the twinkly lights, while we had a coffee (and the cheeseboard!) listening to the owls hooting. Would recommend it - and the staff were attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back.
Just returned home from a Mother’s Day there with my mum along with the fact it was her birthday as well. The food was delicious and I would highly recommend this to anyone, we have been there a few time for dinner and have never had a bad meal I just need to go there for their lunchtime menu now, thanks very much to the staff for making us feel so welcome
Quaint pub with a delectable Sunday roast. Highly recommended for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Not the first time we've been here and certainly won't be the last. Food of exceptionally high quality - just look at the pics - this was our Sunday roast today, and we had beautifully prepared and presented mixed roast, with roast beef, leg of lamb and turkey. The roast potatoes were exceptional, as was the caramelized red cabbage. Service also warm and friendly, as was the atmosphere, with great effort put into Christmas decorations both inside and out. We do a lot of fine dining and this roast was up there, great taste, portion and very fairly priced.
Speaking of fairness, I've seen a very few recent shock reviews on here from customers who seem to have a coordinated axe to grind. Maybe they visited on an off day but there's no need for OTT criticisms behind internet anonymity. People leaving unfair reviews like that should think twice about small businesses and their staff making an honest, and hard living in a post-pandemic age. And yet the manager is still bending over backwards to please.
That should tell you that they've got a great attitude to customer service. Even though it was getting packed (and rightly popular) they managed to seat a family who turned up on spec, with a bit of extra effort. Lucky family!
Keep up the great food and service, guys, we'll be back!
Me and my family occasionally/ normally go to the orange tree pub because we love the food options and most of all the atmosphere it is a beautifully designed pub , parking space is good and the people / services is like you are the main priority
Took my daughter to somewhere new for Sunday lunch recently. Food was excellent (albeit my daughter couldn't finish hers). Drinks selection fine. Roadworks on the day took us on a little detour to find it.
Service decent and not waiting too long despite them being busy.
Atmosphere slightly diminished by being in a corner next to cackling hens. Yet would probably enjoy more of an evening.
Will definitely return
The food was so good and delicious 🤤 the environment was perfect, with accents of British interior design decor. The staff was amazing, very attentive and friendly at all times. The portion are average size I believe, and you can eat one portion until satisfied perfectly. If you order some starters, maybe the main dish will be too much if you aren't sharing with anyone. Overall experience was great, and I would for sure come back next time I visit London! Thanks for the hospitality!
Visited The Orange Tree on a sunny day. Lovely Sunday atmosphere. Soulful music playing in the background - which was a delight. Really impressed with the size of the outdoor area and the lamb roast dinner was to die for! Good portion sizing and variety of accompanying veg. Whilst the dessert (warm toffee pudding) didn't hold up to the same standard - I was really impressed by the customer service and hospitality to ensure it was rectified. Overall - a lovely visit. I would recommend to my friends and family.
Exquisite pub with friendly staff and relaxing and well enjoying garden. If you are looking for a relaxing time withgreat food and good beer, this is the autumn place you are looking for.
Good parking space and children friendly.
Definetly worth trying.
I live in Romford and I have tried many many different gastro pubs all over the country and restaurants for Sunday Roast dinner and the orange Tree is without a doubt my favourite Beef Roast destination every Sunday.
Excellent crispy garlic golden roast potatoes
Tasty, beef cooked to how you like it
Braised warm red cabbage
Beef dripping gravy
Honey glazed carrots
Crunchy Parsnip
Peas, shredded cabbage
And lastly, big Yorkshire puddings
All I can say is, thank you to the chef and the staff at the Orange tree and as long as the quality of the food doesn’t alter, I will keep coming back each week :)
Celebration for a dear friends 90th birthday. A perfect day out. Lovely, welcoming place. Flower displays were lovely. Food n drink good!
Had a meal here for my birthday with the family yesterday, 8 of us. Food was excellent, only gripe was the wait for the food. Over an hour wait for mains, which would be acceptable if it was adults but as we had kids with us, tainted the experience a bit.
