Lovely pub. Helpful staff. Sectioned off a corner of the pub for a private party. 3 of us ordered food. Came up very quick for a Saturday night and we were one of 3 parties being held there. Food was lovely.

A great place for newcomers or locals alike. Always a friendly welcome, good menu options catering to all tastes. Nice for a cosy drink during the week or a few drinks on a Saturday night followed by a big roast with friends, family and wine of a Sunday!

Been in here a couple times now and would recommend. Food is nice, it's just far enough away from town to be quieter and relaxed. Has an outdoor seating area too

Had a family gathering of about 20 people. Absolutely amazing service from Adam, Abbie and Chloe, they couldn’t do enough for us. Food was fantastic and catered for vegan, vegetarian and people with allergens. Greg the manager ensured everything was ok during the whole afternoon. Such professional and friendly staff. Thank you very much from us all! 😊

I haven't been here for a while because honestly for a long while the staff have been unwelcoming and the atmosphere dull. Menu items were constantly out of stock and I felt the venue did not deserve my hard earned money. BUT I have visited twice recently and there has been a marked improvement, the atmosphere had had a buzz and the staff have been really welcoming and friendly. It feels like the place I want to come and relax after a hard week at work. Hoping the Mawney arms stays on an upward trajectory!

When we booked our dinner, we did bot know that Sunday roast was nit available and then also sticky toffee pudding unavailable. We came in for the roast. And as we read all reviews about this place. But we managed to choose another dishes. Fish&chips and chicken burger. These where great tasting dishes.

We all had a lovely time last Sunday and were well looked after by Ellen who made sure we had everything we needed. The food was great, the kids enjoyed themselves and we will definitely be back. Thank you from all of us 😁

Amazing customer service from Ellen. I had an issue with my pre ordered food and she was able to amend it without any issues. I felt like she went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely Sunday lunch. She was serving a table of 8 with 4 children included. Our food was served hot and was delicious. I am aware that the pub had new management and that was certainly reflected in the food. It was great to see such an improvement! This pub is a 2 minute walk from my house and I'm so happy to see that a new lease of life is coming back into it. A much friendlier and more welcoming pub for families. I can't wait to come for another large family Sunday roast. Ellen made sure to say bye to us as she left for the today and this really made her service feel caring and professional. What a gem you have there! Thanks again for a lovely Sunday roast with amazing service! See you again soon

Having eaten here a couple of times now you can see the positive impact the new management is having. Approached Greg with regards to hosting a birthday party and my confidence in him and the team providing a great buffet and service on the night was not misplaced. I was served by Andre and I have to say his customer service was second to none. I always appreciate the service I receive in hospitality but Andre was another level. Polite as you can possibly get and as helpful as you could possibly get. When busy and needing to take care of another task first he made good eye contact and communicated that fact to me. He is a model of what hospitality service should look like. I hope they line him up for a management role. Thanks Andre & co for a nice evening. In terms of the food I would say the carbonara was a little rubbery (somehow), so I can't recommend that unfortunately. The sticky chicken starter was delicious.
