We stayed in the area for 4 nights and ate at the inn every evening. The food was absolutely delicious, a varied menu using locally sourced food, good sized portions and perfectly cooked. The surroundings are very lovely, we ate in both the bar and the conservatory and both were cosy and comfortable. We were made to feel very welcome, especially by Naomi, who was our waitress most of the week. She was friendly, chatty and extremely helpful. I would highly recommend The Original Rosslyn Inn to anyone visiting the area!

Just had my first Haggis burrito there. It was most enjoyable. Very friendly staff, a good menu ( my wife’s fish and chips was very fresh with a light crisp batter), and a well stocked bar. A great way to extend a day out to Rosslyn chapel

Absolutely lovely place to stay end eat. Great location outside of Edinburgh but close enough to drive or get a taxi into the centre. Great food and service. Rooms are comfortable with all modern amenities but keeping to the traditional style.

We stopped for a coffee with our 2 dogs. Lovely lady advised we could go to conservatory area but as we just wanted coffee it was fun in bar area. Doh friendly serve meals too..next time we'll plan a walk with lunch stop 👍

Me and my husband stayed 2 nights, our room was nice but had a few issues, sink in bathroom had no plug, the radiator in the room wasn't working, we did highlight this with Freya and she put a little heater in room which heated the room up. We found the food good, and staff very friendly and efficient. We would return in the future. Lorraine ONeill

We had a lovely lunch and staff were perfect, uniform was clean . What I found it was not wheel chair friendly and I found it difficult trying to get up the step as it was to high . So I am afraid we will not being back as we both enjoyed our meal we had ,my husband had to assist me going in / and out of the premises as I use two elbow crutches.

A large group of us went for lunch - able to accommodate us despite no booking. Pretty varied menu, and food was good. Staff friendly and efficient.

We really enjoyed our two-night stay at this hotel. The staff and food were excellent and the location is superb for visiting both the famous chapel and Edinburgh. Our room was not large, as befits an old inn, but the furniture, carpets and decor are in need of some updating and small repairs. The bathroom had a large bath with over-shower, which was lovely, however there were some DIY bodges which undermined the feeling of quality. We did appreciate the lovely bar of chocolate left with the tea and coffee making facilities. Downstairs there are various bars and lounges. The breakfast lounge might be improved by removing some nik-naks and clutter to make it easier to clean and maintain. We ate one night in the restaurant which was clean and modern and produces excellent food at reasonable prices with pleasant service. The crowning glory was the breakfast which was of a quality far above any we think we have had in a hotel. A really outstanding choice of very high quality cooked breakfast options - if you like cooked breakfast you are in for a treat. Other items were also available. All of the staff were friendly, relaxed and eager that we had a good stay. They could not have been nicer to be honest. The hotel is in an excellent location. The famous chapel is 5 minutes walk away and busses to Edinburgh stop literally right outside the door (£2 each way!). The buses run quite late which can be a bit disturbing at night.

After visiting The Chapel we walked to the pub here for lunch. Great, snug atmosphere. Excellent food. Nice selection of draft beer. Superior service.

First time at the Piano Bar night, which is held on the first Friday of the month in the Crypt Cocktail Lounge. The most amazing cocktails with an extensive range. Lovely atmosphere and decor. Brilliant service and extremely attentive. The singer/piano player was really good with a good mixture of music. Lovely evening and would highly recommend it, will definitely be back for the next one

Lovely atmosphere, although a wee bit refurbishment needed in dining area. Had a lovely lunch. Macaroni cheese wasn't nice but staff couldn't be nicer replacing it with a delicious burger. Great service.
