Great fishery with plenty of good sized carp to be caught. Pellet waggler or feeder fishing seem to be the favoured methods. I've recently been catching using plain 8mm fishmeal or Robin Red pellets and white or pink wafters. Not to busy nowadays and only £6 for a day ticket. Small car park but street parking also available.

Lowerhouse lodge nature reserve, was once two lodges , in which the top lodge was infilled by landfill, this lodge area is now sectioned off into two defined area's of a large pond and another area of wet shrub the two defined areas are divided by a central footpath, This area was once the home of recorded Water Voles. efforts have been made in the past to retain this habitat area. These ponds and the larger lower lodge area, of water bodies get there water suppled via firstly the Clough which gains it water from Hamildon hill, then goes via Bluebell wood adjacent to the old Hapton valley colliery and the Burnley Crematory where another stream water joins from the Spa wood area ,joining via a tunnel passing through the old Hapton Valley colliery site on into Bluebell wood, Then going via a further tunnel under Accrington road and the Leeds/ Liverpool canal which then it becomes Greenbrook(once Mollybrook) into the Lodge area. And then out under Knott's lane and through into Padiham to join the river Calder by the Padiham Town , Molly brook was a favourite place during the late1950 to 1962 period to go tickle fishing for Gudgeon.
