Love it...best fish and chips ever, and the cod salad O and the fish pie!!!. LOVELY staff the place is so nice inside. Only down side, can only get once a fortnight. I would recamend to all, O I love the sweets..and it is licensed. Nice glass of wine and a pint for the hubby, or tea for two or a lattee coffee,all are FANTASTIC Thankyou Whitbys you are first class.
Best steak pie ever , would recommend going here friendly staff and great value for money. I will definitely return.
Had lunch there today cod chips and peas soft drink and coffee my companion had fish chips and a knicker bocker glory the fish was excellent the star of the meal but every thing was so delicious truly excellent the staff are really great too a very pleasant and enjoyable lunch went again with family for tea excellent food as always excellent service however when we went to pay a rather grumpy lady said I am coming to say we spent well over 50 pounds her attitude wasn't good for a change today decided to have a whitbys take away quite a pleasant day for it the staff in the takeaway were very nice nothing was too much trouble when my companion wanted cod with very little batter on wasn't a problem 😀 and the fish chips and mushy peas were absolutely amazingly delicious 😀 yum yum yummy yum 😋 was in the area so thought I'd have a takeaway 😋 had fish and Yorkshire fishcake as always delicious never disappointes which is good considering the price of food these days 😋

This was a really nice place for some fish & chips! We were there about an hour before closing time so the atmosphere was nice and quiet. The people who worked there were very friendly and helpful and the food was very enjoyable too! The one thing I found a bit odd was that while most other places I've dined in for fish and chips give you peas and tartar sauce as part of your main dish, this was not the case here. Peas were an extra we had to pay for, and we asked for some tartar sauce. There was a lot of space for parking outside the restaurant so it's easily accessible on foot and by car. All in all the food, service and atmosphere were nice so it's a good place to visit!
Had whitebait as starter and battered cod and chips for mains. I really enjoyed both. A lot! 🐟
What also stood out for me was that the sides were also excellent. I tried gravy, curry sauce and mushy peas.
Also the service was impeccable. 🙂

Went for take out on a Saturday, was busy but got the food pretty fast. Everything made fresh and very very tasty food!! Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting good fish and chips!!!
We went for lunch on a very busy Friday lunchtime and expected a long wait. We were seated immediately, had our order taken within five minutes, got our drinks within five minutes of ordering them and our food within ten minutes. The food is good and reasonably priced, and the service is excellent. The staff are attentive and efficient, constantly walking around the restaurant in case anyone needs them, and all with a smile on their faces and a great attitude.
My first visit with my wife. Excellent, spacious and airy building, with well positioned tables for a variety of table settings. Good hot food, well presented and extremely friendly staff.
I thought it was very well priced compared to a traditional ' fish & chip ' takeaway.
We will definitely be returning.
Dropped in and despite being busy we were seated quickly.
Good old fish n chips and tasted better than your local chippy.
Washed down with a pot of tea. Yummy.
Little one had Cod bites, and they were delicious too a good sized kid portion.
