It was my sister-in-law's first visit and we booked afternoon, which she loved. I am gluten free and even with lots of prior notice, I've experienced some lacklustre offerings even in top hotels. Not so with Scarletts. The sandwiches, quiche and selection of cakes and scone with jam and cream, rate up there in my top 3, nationwide. So refreshing not to be treated as a second class citizen because I have a food allergy. Love it.

Called in this morning and despite being closed the owner said that she could do us a bacon butty and a coffee. She couldn't do enough for us and the butties were superb & coffee/tea excellent. We will be back when the place is open to try other homemade food. Well worth a visit if you are over that side of town.
