Popped into Irene's today for a bowl of soup but was busy and no soup left so we had a bacon and sausage roll instead, and it was really lovely! Decent sized cup of coffee as well. Nice friendly atmosphere and staff. Definitely be back again.
It is rare that I give a 5 stars to anywhere because there is always a fault that just cannot be overlooked. In this nice little cafe in Rothes, there is the opportunity to park either in the street near the entrance or round the back in the car park. But keep a sharp eye out for the cafe, it is easy to drive past and miss it!
Getting in is a bit of a squeeze but it is an old building and they have done what they can to make it accessible. The toilet is great, a good size and clean. The table all have proper chairs so one can easily be removed for wheelchair access. The decor is captivating with lots of interesting things to look at. And the food and drink was excellent! But I just don't know how they can manage to do it so economically, I was expecting to pay a lot more that I did for what we had. Very highly recommended, if you are in this area, why not pop in and judge it for yourself?
Top service. No quibbles about us coming in in our slightly dirty cycling clothes and delicious bacon and egg roll, sausage in a roll and egg and black pudding in a roll, served to the 3 of us promptly. This place fills up quickly due to old school quality service!
