If I could give 0 I would. I went to this venue a few weeks back and had what I would describe as the worst dinner of my life. We had an array of dishes and all of them were just horrendous. Cold, wet, undercooked, no flavour and just generally disgusting. I called to complain and no refund was offered for my £35 order which I had to throw away. However, they did say I could get a free meal so they could make it up-to me. I believe in second chances so I called to give it another go about two weeks later. To my disgust I was told that they could only give me a portion of chips for free. A PORTION OF CHIPS. Obviously I was not happy about this so spoke to the manager and was simply told it was my fault and not theirs. Please please please do not eat at or recommend this restaurant to anybody that you know. I'm disgusted and will never be visiting again. They have stolen £35 of my money and couldn't even help. On top of the above they reply to my review calling me a liar. Another point showcasing their lack of accountability for their poor / disgusting service! If this does not put you off I don't know what will!

Awful! Having used Lotus House for 30 years this will be my last time. Today the Capital ribs were tough and chewy, there were just 4 ribs and the sauce was very watery. The Special Fried Rice was OK but was just about warm. The prawn crackers, thankfully free, were the worst I've ever had, cold, stale, and broken into small pieces. I hate to think how long ago they were cooked, and not looking forward to tomorrow if I manage to keep them contained long enough. Even the dogs left them until they realised they weren't getting any thing else Most unusual!! On top of that, the young lady serving couldn't pick up the change due to the length of her nails, having said that in her favour she was at least polite. All in all the worst meal I've ever had from any take away in Royston! (I did take photos to prove my point but it won't let me upload them here?)😩 Saw the reply from Lotus House below. How is it that before the containers were able to hold more than 4 ribs? There was plenty of sauce it was just very watery. As for returning the food and having it remade, that's fine if you live in town and are able to return it straight away but I live 2 miles away and that wasn't an option, and why should I have to return a meal for replacement, it should be right in the first instance not after a second attempt. As for cooking 'fresh' crackers every 2 days, then they aren't fresh cooked at all but are 2 days old, which is why they were tasting stale and were broken into small pieces.

We have been to the Lotus House on numerous occasions and its been decent. The last time we went it wasn't great, but we thought we'd give it another chance. WHAT A MISTAKE. The spring rolls were so greasy that the oil was running down our hands and the pastry wasn't cooked through properly. The deep fried king prawn balls were also drenched in oil and the prawns themselves were so over cooked they were like bullets.The Singapore chow mein had gone missing, just a smidge of chicken, no prawns, chilli or peppers - totally tasteless. To be fair the chicken and beef dishes we had were cooked ok, but slathered in a monosodium glutamate goo. The egg fried rice was dry, crusty and tasteless. All in all a disgraceful disaster that went in the bin. I also am sceptical in this Covid day and age of a takeaway that only takes cash. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I ordered this 'meal' last night, drove 10 minutes home and then attempted to eat it, so it was as good as it was ever going to be.
