Well worth a trip to a secret hidden gem of North Wales. Nita & Major made us feel welcome. Food was amazing. Everyone should try it.
Lovely local pub with amazing homemade curry. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and customers.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Highly recommended.
Fantastic food and company. Everybody, from the hosts to the locals were brilliant company - an amazing community feel to the place. Food was amazing. Will most certainly be back when we're back in the area.
Great pub, the landlord was very welcoming. The food is great too. 👍
We were heading for the pub on a cycle ride, when we arrived the pub was shut (due to open later in the day). The landlord was outside and very kindly offered to open up just for us so we could have a pint or 2. Such a lovely and generous thing to do. Would definitely return.
A very warm welcome awaits! Good real ale, and fabulous home cooked curry to boot. It's a somewhat large pub but still feels cosy and intimate inside. The area around the pub is sublime.
We travelled some thirty miles on the strength of reviews we had read. The landlord gave us a warm welcome and we installed ourselves in a nook of the pub that had three tables and a wood burner. There were other tables along towards the bar; the public bar had more tables and a pool table. The food is served from 18:00hrs and we were quick off the mark to place our order as we had waited some weeks before we were able to make the visit. We each ordered a starter, a kebab and a samosa. Both were amazing the samosa was absolutely the best I have ever tasted. I had to restrain myself from ordering half a dozen to take home! Then onto the main event of the pork curry served with rice and naan. I enjoyed the curry, but the rice elevated the meal, this is not the stuff that you are served in your local takeaway! The Guinness is a superior pint to some of the other Guinness I have been served, I was gutted I had taken on driving duties so could only partake of one pint. I would like to make a return visit very soon. If you like good food, good beer and a friendly atmosphere pay a visit.
The Red Lion is a lovely pub, in a very special place. Friendly staff who are very accommodating and also welcoming locals. Really good home cooked food served till 9 pm,, that is not to typical fayre. Amazing Gin selection and good beer. Had a great time, will definitely go again.
