Jonathan Wilson ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Easily one of the best pubs out there. Cozy fireplace, historic setting, and always an amazing selection of beers on tap.
Matthew Kozlowsky ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This pub is the real deal, with a genuine, cozy atmosphere and lovely folks that make you feel welcome. The drinks selection is outstanding, and always rotating, so you'll have something new to try with every visit. Rye is a special town, so it's only fitting it should have such a special pub.

Chilled out pub with a great beer garden, dates back to the 17th Century. We visited on a Sunday evening so there was only one cask ales on (they shut Monday - Weds), but there is a good choice of other drinks. Dog friendly. They don't serve food and access is down some steep steps.

Came here about ten years ago and once again starting off the day here. Liza kicks off with a Langudoc rosé. I had a Kent brewery 4.1% Golding. Lovely pint. Two real ales and a cider on handpump. A beautiful pub in a great setting. Friendly …
Arabella ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Absolutely loved it especially the Incredibly brutal barmaid bossing the owner about. Very much the sort of place to go if you like pubs owned and run by real people - don’t go if you want meek servitude and a theme park. An 11/10.
Nick Cooper-Soderberg ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hands-down my favourite pub in Rye. The best selection of rotating craft beer, a stellar garden for summer and a candle-lit sanctuary offering an open fireplace in winter. The finest place for a quiet pint and some contemplation, in the colder months, or a long session in the sun during the warmer ones.
