Lovely pub, nice decor, welcoming feel. Tucked away so probably don't get as much business as they deserve! Didn't eat here but we had a drink on the terrace which was lovely and peaceful.

Stayed in Ryton for a week and used the Fox for meals and drinks on many evenings. Food was excellent and so reasonable. Thoroughly recommend The Fox and hope we come back before too long.

We had a fantastic stay jubilee weekend at Ryton Farm cottages, and went to this brilliant pub 3 nights during our stay. "Bez" and his wife who run the pub are just lovely people and cant do enough for you. The real ale was excellent , so was all the meals we had . Thanks for everything, especially playing lots of soul, Tamla Motown, and Northern soul for us. We really cant wait to visit this little gem of a pub again. Thankyou all again for making us so welcome. Rob, Jackie, colin, Jill, Abbie and Vader ...the flat coated Retriever !!!

Simple, down to earth, friendly pub with a warming atmosphere and great staff. Nicely tucked out of the way in a quiet village so not too rowdy or busy. Food & drink was amazing and it may quickly become our local. 5 stars!!

Came here in a bit of a whim after a hard day gardening/patioing. The burger really hit the spot and was delicious. Good size portion and perfectly cooked. Staff were friendly and attentive which made ordering a second round of drinks during our meal easy.

Absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much! Delicious home cooked food - great, affordable pub grub! Lovely people, friendly locals, and topped off with a courier service makes it a special night to share and remember. If only you could find this more often. Old fashioned country pub rightly of the beaten track. But the beer is well kept. The food is good home made fayre and the prices are very reasonable. Sunday lunches are especially good and value for money The landlord is a character but lovely, and the setting is beautiful countryside. If you are bored with the franchise pubs try something real.
