Friendly staff with good range of beers in a tiny quiet village right next to a beautiful 900 year old church. The bar lady Sue was very welcoming and I had the best roast dinner of my entire life courtesy of their new chef Kieran. Thanks and we’ll come back soon.
On my way home from cycling the British Isles. Gale force wind kept me from proceeding to Dover. The landlord allowed me to pitch my tent on their ground for 2 nights. Despite not serving breakfast, I got free coffee in the morning. Very friendly staff. Best hospitality received apart from family and friends in the UK. Thank you
Stop by as not seen this pub before and was really nice and relaxing. Plenty space for kids to play although play equipment needs to be fixed up. Nice views and hope to return again soon to eat.
Lovely pub, great staff and amazing food! the new menu is beautiful! the best place to eat.
Had a great Sunday roast then spent the afternoon in the sunshine listening to Driss performing. Can think of nothing better to do than that. Friendly staff and customers made it a great day
Visited this Free House situated in country village for Sunday Lunch. Very friendly and helful staff. Completely unpretentious local. Great ale (Doom Bar sampled) followed by Sunday roast (beef, chicken and pork. tried in our group) Very good pub fare without any frills. Beef was tasty, plenty of fresh veg (roast potatoes, peas, carrots, parsnips, cabbage, sprouting brockly and cauliflower cheese) yorkshire pudding. Accompanied by nice bottle of Wolf Blass merlot Excellent desserts ( made on premises) apple toffee crumble with custard. With other family but meal for two with desserts and bottle of wine £65 incl tip. Pub became very full and noisy with good but loud live music. Although this wasn't good for family conversations (it was raining after a dry month so couldn't sit outside ) the locals were enjoying it when most communities are resting on a Sunday afternoon! Will return.
Family lunch today for seven of us. Great food. Friendly traditional pub in lovely setting.
Great Pub with friendly and helpful staff. A pint and a bag of crisps in the sun....what more can you ask for?😁
Lovely friendly staff, very helpful. I had a takeaway, delivered to your door. It was a really large roast dinner for £13, delivered to you really hot, with a separate container for gravy. It had 6 vegetables 7 if you count the potatoes. I had roast beef with large Yorkshire pudding and stuffing ball. Cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, peas, parsnips and roast potatoes. Would definitely recommend it and would definitely order again.
Slightly odd pub. Nice old fashioned country pub with high tables and stools in a long narrow bar area. We're a few locals in and atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. 3 main stream ales and my pint of Abbott was in good condition. There is a large dining area with inglenook fireplace stretching from the bar area at the front to the rear of the building. This was not on use when I was there
