Grillado

Excellent food, especially the bruschetta starter. It tasted so fresh and oozing flavours, perfect texture. All dishes were complimented by each of us. Of all main courses we had, the half chicken with dips was probably the best. Not the cheapest but reasonable value for money considering the level of food. Receipt photo attached. But... waiters and waitresses walked past us a few times whilst two of us were saying "excuse me " with a hand raised... then took 4 of them to eventually organise one glass of house red, during our main course. Meanwhile the gentleman next to us asked for a glass of water and got it in 30 seconds leaving us gobsmacked. It made us feel like 2nd rate citizens. It's a shame that this happened since it tarnished our experience, hence we probably won't be going back despite the excellent food. Complements to the chef, shame he/she/they and the owner are let down by others. I have however left 4 stars as our experience seems unique and not entirety relevant to everyone else.

We came here as I was bought a “BuyAGift” voucher and it was valid here for a 3 course meal with coffee and 2 glasses of wine each. I contacted the restaurant to book it and told them of my voucher use which was no problem. The manager at front of house was very friendly and explained what was included in our voucher. The menu has a good variety of Italian dishes, and the food was really good quality and portion sizes were generous - I couldn’t finish all of the food. A good little restaurant which is nice to find, and would definitely come back here again when we are in the area.

We were visiting from the states. They were able to work us in to a fully booked evening. We are so glad they did. The food was excellent! Our taxi driver had suggested it and we used our driver again just to say thank you. One of the best Italian meals I have ever had. The salmon was delicious and my husband's veal was perfect. We had to stop eating to make room for dessert. A win all around. Try the berry cider or any of the wines!

Grillado is a great place to eat! We have been a few times recently and it has been a good experience. The staff are very friendly, polite and good at their job. The scallops starter is good! Full of flavour and lemon. The garlic prawns starter are good as well, it is quite a creamy garlic sauce which is so good for dipping! The mains we've had are the duck, the chicken, herb crusted lamb chops and salmon linguine. The food is good, they really know how to cook their meat so it is tender and juicy and delicious! The potatoes also so we also are happy with what we eat and order. If I could provide some constructive feedback, the seasonal vegetables or roasted vegetables that accompany some dishes are a bit strange. For example, there was either too much going on or some of flavours clashed with the food so that would be the only improvement I would make. Otherwise, highly recommend!
