Cafe Tiramisu

Impeccable service at this small Italian restaurant in an alleyway. Outdoor dining that transports you back to a European cafe. The bread was light and crisp; the beet carpaccio was fresh. Cioppino was good, but rather small portions for the price. Delicate fish boned tableside. Tiramisu served gratis was light and airy.

This restaurant is a little gem, not only a delicious meal but an all around experience. Authentic Italian feeling, the food will definitely surprise and please you! Christian was our server and he was incredible! Great recommendations and pacing of the meal for a couple on a night out. The grilled octopus with avocado has to be one of the best octopus I have ever had, the home made papardelle a la bolognese was divine and the gianduia sundae topped it off to perfection. We also had the Cesar romaines and the bread which were also good. The owners are there checking in on everyone and have been doing so for the past 30 odd years… and you can tell, you are eating food that is prepared with love and pride. If I may provide one tiny recommendation is to dim the lights a bit more in the inside dinning room. We will absolutely be back! Thank you very much!

A coworker and I visited here for lunch. It's on a cute side street with other restaurants. They have outdoor seating under the tent that's perfect for San Franciso weather. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. The pace of the meal was perfect for a business lunch or meal break. We shared the Lobster escargot style. It's everything you think it is, delicious and succulent lobster dripping in garlic and butter. Also get the rosemary garlic bread to sop up the leftover sauce. For our entrees she had the black spaghetti and I had the Caesar salad. We then shared the flourless chocolate cake with pistachio gelato for dessert. Everything was divine.

I really enjoyed the experience! Service was quick and effective. The food was delicious, every plate we had and also the desert! Of course, you should have tiramisu, but we had a brownie with gianduia ice cream that was also amazing! After talking to the owner we understood why, he's really from Italy and he's key in using high quality fresh ingredients to provide a great food experience! The place might look a little run down, but the experience is totally worth it and the cost/benefit is really good for San Francisco in my opinion. I'll definitely come back!

Cafe Tiramisu, located on a side street. If you blink, you will miss it. The Truffle Gnocchi, delicious. The focaccia bread, with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, excellent! Best tasting balsamic vinegar I've tasted. The cannoli, crisp, delicious, filling not too sweet with chocolate sauce. The tiramisu, soft, creamy, I didn't taste the cake when I bit into it, which is great since it's not overly saturated. The one star drop, their online menu does not match their in house menu. I wanted to try their meatballs, but sadly, the menu online was not offered. Note they close at 9:30pm. I will repeat but will call ahead to ask about their menu. They should fire the web master. Overall food score 4.5.

Don’t pass by this unassuming little Italian family gem. They will serve you a meal your Italian Nonna would be proud of. The menu abounds with classic items like tagliatelle Bolognese, stuffed calamari, gnocchi and most all of the classics. The restaurant is small, reasonably priced, with friendly helpful staff. A 10-15 minute safe walk from Union Square or the Hilton Hotel near the financial district. It’s not fancy or high end. Just darn good Italian food with great service.

Came here for restaurant week after a recommendation from a friend & it did not disappoint! The food was so good!! The gnocchi was so soft & delicious and the tuna tartare was very fresh. The tiramisu was a perfect end to the meal! The staff were also very friendly and attentive. The outdoor dining area was also very nice & had heaters. I can’t wait to dine here again!
