Authentic Sukiyaki Dinner! We had the Prime Beef and it was sooo good...no need for Wagyu upgrade. The beef slices were succulent and high quality. The vegetables were the original Sukiyaki veggies like Japan...and the broth was just right...tasty and we added spicy oil. The service was impeccable! The restrooms was very clean. We will definitely be back! Thank you John and Crystal for your attentive service! We will be back! best Sukiyaki we have tasted outside of Japan.

Fancy Shabu Shabu experience. In my opinion, this place has the best ramen of all of jtown. It is a MUST try!!! Side order of ramen is $12, and they also serve it during lunch hours. Make a reservation! Usually there aren't any walk-ins. We made one on a weekday during lunch time for dinner service.

My friends and I came here for their anniversary. The service was great and the A5 Wagyu was definitely worth the price. Ordering was a bit confusing. The server would not tell us if it’s enough to split. One order is definitely is enough for two people.

We got the A5 Wagyu course ($90) and the Ribeye course ($50) to share. The meal started with a sesame tofu appetizer, which was earthy and light. The courses are served with rice bowls, which we didn't finish because there was so much food. Tempura baskets of 5 items were brought out (broccoli, potato, sweet potato, prawn, and carrot). For the shabu-shabu: each course had a plate of cabbage, greens (escarole?), and mushrooms. The soup base was a beef bone broth. Green onions and spicy radish were provided so each person could flavor their dipping sauces. The ribeye was a good, meaty cut. After swishing, it took the sesame sauce well. The ponzu sauce also added an acidic bite that was well received. The Wagyu was incredibly delicate. We only needed to briefly swish it in the broth to enjoy. I would even say it was so good, it didn't need any dipping sauce. The courses ended with green tea ice cream with strawberries and a light drizzle of honey (?).

Great service and presentation. The tempura is way over-battered, and the wagyu sukiyaki is merely okay- the sugary broth gets in the way of the beef flavor. The ramen broth is tasty but on the salty side. The green tea ice cream was pretty good though.

They recently?Re-opened with updated menu. Its still shabu shabu / sukiyaki but now a course menu. We honestly didn't think we'd be treated so well! We walked in at 5 without reservation, got seated at the bar(we actually preferred this) The sesame tofu is so good I can tell it was house made. The sukiyaki now has cotton candy sugar? which was interesting. The broth/sauce was a little salty for me but its sukiyaki so still good. You also get fresh tempura(so many pieces). Then also a separate ramen per person. We were too full so the server kindly prepared them as to-go. (We ate them at home and the broth was so good also) Finally a good greentea icecream with mochi (this mochi was also not like a frozen mochi from the store either. It was authentic) Great service + amazing food~ we are glad we came back after re-opening. :)

This was my first time doing sukiyaki! Went here with my hubby and we both enjoyed it so much! The food was delicious and the service was really nice! They had Sapporo Premium beer which I suppose is not common and we really like it! One order of sukiyaki is a whole course meal designed for one person. (Meaning it includes an appetizer, then tempura, then the actual sukiyaki with meat and some veggies, after a ramen, and lastly mochi with ice cream for dessert). However we did one for the two of us and then just added more items such as meat, etc. It was super delicious and filling! Would definitely recommend and go again to try the shabu shabu next time!!

We made the mistake of getting the all you can eat, just too much food. We could have ordered the normal menu item and would still be enough meat. Both the beef and pork slices are very thinly sliced and cooked almost instantly. I like the two sauces, one is a soy sauce (with bonito flavor in it?) and the other is a sesame sauce. They have hot pepper flakes if you want to add more heat to your soup or sauce. There's also a variety of veggies and noodles (clear, undo and ramen). On top of that, a bowl of white rice and either a seaweed salad or soba noodles. They refill the soup when it is low so don't worry about that. There are two soup flavors: spicy miso and original bonito. There is usually a wait so get there early! It's awesome when it's cold outside, warms up the belly!

The owner is Japanese and makes his own Sukiyaka broth recipe. So, I can tell you that is it authentic as authentic gets! I have not had this good of sukiyaki since I was in Japan. The meats and vegetables are fresh, the Sapporo Beer is on tap and the service is impeccable. This place is located in the heart of Japan town in San Francisco and make sure you go early because seating is limited. The grill is on the table so be prepared to COOK YOUR OWN FOOD if you order this dish, but honestly there is no other dish to order as it straight out of Japan. Oishi!!!!

I went here on a Sunday afternoon and thankfully it is not crowded. Their meats are worth checking out. They have very well thinly sliced beef and pork meats that are not too fatty and not frozen. Perfect amount of lean meat and fat. The texture of the beef was great. I'm a bit disappointed on the portions of veggies for the shabu because it less than the other places I've been in. The upside is that their price is inexpensive than others with an exception of kobe beef. It was very expensive. But if their regular beef is very good, I would expect their kobe to be amazing. Vibe is casual and atmosphere is quiet. Staff is good.
