We went here for our one year anniversary! We ordered the Shabu Shabu and the Sukiyaki, both of which we felt were great tasting and well portioned. We saved our egg and some of our included rice for the rice porridge at the end of the meal, only to find out that they include an egg and rice specifically for the porridge! Our server, Isaac, did an amazing job at crafting a delicious porridge right in front of us, using one of the soup bases to do so (I think he should get a raise!). Overall an amazing experience and we will be recommending to others and coming back!

Friday night in the city is cold so having Nabe is the perfect food to warm up. Ordered the seafood and duck breast set. Also enjoyed their buttered mochi cake with black sesame ice cream.

Cozy, steamy nabemono spot. Friendly and attentive service, delicious food, good portions. The garlic edamame is delicious and the nabemono will leave you very full 🥣

A bit pricey, but delicious. Like all the other reviews said, the porridge at the end really stood out to me. For the complimentary porridge, they take your leftover soup and add rice + eggs + other ingredients while heating it up I kept them as leftovers :) Ordered the miso shabu-shabu with A5 beef ribeye upgrade (+~50 and pictured). I intended to order the A5 wagyu upgrade (+~30), but I told the waitress the wrong thing when they were explaining it to me (oops!). The ribeye upgrade was very thin and buttery, and tasted best when eaten with a spoon of the soup. While I'm glad I tried the upgraded meat, I don't think the price is worth it. Also ordered the chicken karaage and takoyaki. Karaage came in many bite-sized pieces. Takoyaki was alright. We ended up getting in within an hour of closing and they still served us. Super appreciative of the staff! Thank you for serving us :) I would come again if I was in the area to order their non-upgraded meat/try other broths just so I could pack some porridge to-go!

I came with 2 other friends after a long hike in Berkeley. We weren't aware we had to make reservations. Luckily we arrived early enough that we were able to get seated. Beware, you can't order meal packs unless you're ordering to go. However, the Nabemono set was the compromise. We ordered the Shabu Shabu (wagyu in Kombu broth) and Ishikari Nabe. Both clean broths and very delicious. Once you're finished, you have the option to turn one of the broths into porridge. Great way to not waste flavorful broth! On the side, I ordered a tasting flight of sake. By no means am I a sake connoisseur, but the introduction to sake was extremely smooth. Out of the 3, I enjoyed Nanbu-Bijin. It was so refreshing and light. I'd definitely come back to satisfy my hotpot cravings. It's perfect for chilly, foggy SF weather.

One of the best shabu hot pot places in SF! Not only are the sets extremely balanced, but also it feels very healthy and light. I would not recommend getting the Wagyu upgrade, I think that it’s expensive for what it is, and I think that the normal beef option is good enough. My favorite part is definitely the porridge that they make at the end with your remaining rice and broth.

Super loved the quantity of food and the quality that we got.. ~70 for two with all the fixings and drinks. Great service from the friendly waitresses, and the rice porridge to finish off the broth is quite the treat. I think space can become an issue depending on where you sit as some of the tables can be quite small for all the food, but this place is definitely worth a visit or two.

Excellent service and food, the 2 main things I care about at restaurants. The pork gyoza was prepared wonderfully with a crispy bottom and juicy inside. The seafood hot pot came with 2 medium sized salmon steaks, 2 average size prawns, 2 scallops, 6-8 clams, and a ton of veggies. While not a lot of food, it was plenty for 2 people and the quality was excellent. The waiter will make you porridge once you're ready, which I barely ate because I was so full already. I will be coming back here to try the other hot pot dishes they have.
