Pasilla Mexican Grill

Delicious Mexican food combined with speedy service makes for an excellent combo! I was looking for a place to grab and go a quick lunch and came across Pasilla. It's a relatively tiny store (just two small tables inside for seating) so I imagine most people take out. I ordered a vegetarian bowl and it was incredibly flavorful and filling, for less than $11! Maybe the only downside is their limited hours, but still a great spot!

Pasilla offers a pretty delicious burrito. I have eaten there once and would definitely go back. The rice is was perfect, it was everything I wanted in Mexican rice and would eat it with some beans any day, superbly done. Salsa had some really good flavor but was too spicy for me. That being said, I'm kinda a spice wimp when it comes to certain foods. I got black beans which is uncharacteristic for me in a burrito but, I was pleasantly surprised. The steak was tender and had good flavor. I opted for no lettuce on mine cause that's how I like it. It definitely could have used more cheese again that is personal preference. I think this is a great place to get a bite and will be back for more.

I've only been here a couple of times, but it has, in my opinion, one of the best value salads in the Financial District. You get a HUGE salad with your choice of protein (chicken, beef, pork, shrimp) for around ten bucks. I also tried my friend's burrito, which was pretty good as well. I can definitely see this place becoming one of my go-to spots for weekday lunches.

This is the best burrito in the Fi-Di. It's not that good by San Francisco standards; it's passable. There is no flavor. The steak has too much gristle. The burrito is extra large. I only go here when I'm having a burrito emergency and then I'm reminded why I don't like to come here. There is a line from 11:30 AM until 1:45 PM Monday-Friday. The staff here are very nice and efficient. There is a salsa bar. There is one table.
