We come here quite a bit for lunch and we've never been disappointed. The service is always great and the food is always piping hot and delicious. We came with our friend The Captain and we had beers and wine...naturally. The Captain ordered from the specials board, he had Tomato soup and Chicken, Prawn and Avocado Salad with new potatoes. He said it was really tasty. I had Filo Prawns with a garlic mayo followed by Fish and Chips. I'd been craving Fish and Chips for ages and I'd had a few and nothing had been hiding the spot but these were perfect. The batter not too greasy, not too crispy and yet not too soggy. Perfect. My husband had smoked Salmon to start followed by Steak and Kidney pudding with Roasties and veg. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals too. Unfortunately we were all too stuffed for a pudding but even the pudding list sounded yummy. Couldn't tell you how much it cost as we were treated but the starters were around £7 each and the mains somewhere between £15-20. Well worth it.
Wow !!!!! What a wonderful afternoon at the Kings Arm . Twice we had to cancel our birthday meal due to daughter and grandchildren having Omicron. Extremely lucky to have the cosy back room to ourselves . Extremely well looked after throughout our meal nothing was to much bother. Pub was beautifully clean we could not have wished for more staff excellent . Food was excellent always is perfectly cooked with love . Everyone chose a different meal which thoroughly enjoyed . Empty plates from all the adults and grandchildren tried the best to get through their meal. Deserts is something I don’t normally have but the New York cheese cake with coulis and ice cream was not to say no to . Thank you to the Kings Arm ‘s for a fantastic time we had and gorgeous fresh cooked food . First time we have visited since new owners have taken over . So pleased Kirsty is still employed she has worked there for 17 years and the lovely young fair haired man . A new chef has been put in place , well I must say it has been a truly wonderful experience at the Kings Arms . Lovely warm greeting on arrival and allowed to dine in our favourite room ( the secret room ) . Nothing is to much trouble and Kirsty told us the history of the hotel and her personal experiences . Our food was cooked to perfection no complaints whatsoever. Husband Scottish steak cooked just how he likes it and thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. I had beef lasagne with tomatoes around the edges of dish ( superb never tasted anything like this before) and salad . Desert apple crumble for my husband , one scoop of vanilla ice cream and one of chocolate with chocolate sauce and a flake. Lovely glass of rose’ for myself and a lager for my husband . Definitely will be back with my family . Highly recommended one not to miss .
A sixteenth century building that houses a very nice pub. Beer is good, staff are very nice, beer garden is lovely. Didn't try the food but the plates I saw others have looked very nice and very edible.
