Just had a long weekend at barend. Used the bar and restaurant every night. Great menu varied to meet every taste. They even allowed us to order three different curries even though not on the menu. Steak night on a sunday was a great deal. Two steaks and a bottle of wine under £40. Staff and clientele relaxed and friendly. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.added bonus also dog friendly.

Gary & Lesley are welcoming hosts. There is a good choice on the menu and portions are generous. We have visited several times and always enjoyed the food. The bar area has been much improved to provide a homely feel. Have eaten there with both my family and my golf group.

Lovely food but a bit of a wait. Requested 'gluten-free' steak arrived with onion rings etc and was returned quickly enough to suggest it wasn't replaced, which might be bad news for low tolerance diners.

Lovely friendly staff and the food was really nice, we went in as a group of 13 but everything came out hot and well presented. The prices were very reasonable. Only criticism is the second time we visited the young girl wouldn't let us put two big tables together so we all could sit together even though it was empty.

Visiting family staying in one of the Lodge's. We went for dinner together. Great choices on the menu. Staff were very helpful and good very good. Value for money what's not to like.
