Husband and I went for a quick bite to eat. Had no reservation but as we were quite early they happily obliged and let us have a table. We both had the burger with Stilton and chips. The chips were chunky just how I like them and the burger tasted amazing. I'm just sorry I didn't take a picture before diving in to eat it.

What a fantastic restaurant, out in a small village where all you would expect to find is a local pub selling beer & a pie if your lucky. The Anvil is a diamond find, friendly attentive staff, great atmoshphere & above all, fantastic food at fantastic prices. Out at a small restaurant in a village you would expect to pay mortgage prices for your meal but here they charge better than reasonable & they certainly do not skimp on the quality. Trust me, if me, mr fussy loved it, you will too.

Went to the anvil with friends for a meal and to be honest I cannot wait to go back. Service was the best owner and staff so welcoming and friendly in fact nothing was too much. As for the food I had the fish n chips and it was the best. All I can say is I highly recommend the anvil as myself and my 6 friends thoroughly enjoyed our visit
