I like fish and chips but this was incredible!
I’m from North Yorkshire and thought we had one of the best fish and chip shops going until me and my husband went to Hook Fish shop in Seahouses.
~We ordered~
•Fish and chips (Cod)
which was worth what we paid at £11.50,
(+cheaper than what we would usually pay)
it’s was lovely fish, perfectly battered and
a very good size!
•Fishcake, again was worth what we paid about £7.50.
lovely and crispy, perfect taste and
better than what we had expected.
•A battered sausage,
which was delicious
wasn’t too meaty but also tasted like something, crispy and plenty batter.
We got chips with the fish and fishcake,
The chips were delicious, cooked perfectly,
Just the right amount of Potato, fluffy but still crispy on the outside!
We did takeaway option, the shops was clean and tidy, looked it in the restaurant side too.
Staff were really nice and friendly all had a smile on there face and would go above and beyond to help.
We would 100% be coming back here again,
When we visit Seahouses next time,

Popped in for lunch. Dog friendly place with friendly staff also had vegan/vegetarian and gluten free options which is good to see. Food was delivered quickly and was hot and tasty. Big wins on all fronts.
The fish and chips were brilliant, nice portion sizes and good value for money. The staff were brilliant and could not have helped more. I would highly recommend getting the curry sauce, it's the best I have had with fish and chips and was worth getting.
Wee had just over an hour to grab a meal before our boat ride and this restaurant didn't look busy at all, in fact we were worried it was takeaway only. But it was open and whilst we were the first ones in when we left it was soon filling up. The staff were really friendly. Informed us that they had opened under new management just before lockdown so they haven't been back opened that long. Hence not as many reviews as the place opposite. But we wanted to give them a chance!
The food was brought to us weekly. As a table of 9 we weren't expecting that. The batter was just wonderful and the chips were cooked to perfection. Portion sizes are huge! If you sre getting a hot drink anyway get the light bite special. It'll fill you up! Photos show the dull sized portion with a few already eaten chips missing and the nuggets.
Definitely worth a visit!
Great service from friendly staff. Fish cakes were lovely. Chips not greasy at all which makes a change. Well presented and not just thrown on a plate. A decent glass of Diet Coke and bread and butter.
All in all a great meal
Visited recently and I was not disappointed. The fish is lovely and cooked well. Portions are quite big with lots of chips. A light bite option is available for anyone with a smaller appetite. Staff are very friendly and nothing seemed to be a bother.
Called in yesterday to have a hot meal out of the bitter wind. Restaurant was quiet when we called in but soon got busier. We didn't want a full meal but both had chips, mushy peas and fried halloumi sticks.
Excellent sized portions, in fact nearly too much to eat for me, good quality food as well, none of it was greasy and very quick and friendly service

Great fish & chips. Really generous portion and absolutely delicious. The fish was huge with lovely chips and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. I cannot find anything negative to say about my experience here.
Lovely clean and friendly staff, food was big portions, even the kids meals! the cod was beautifully cooked and not soggy or drenched in oil, the tartar sauce was fresh and tasty that we had to have second helpings 😊 clean plates all round
Great value,we had the light bite fish and chips. Beautifully cooked Extremely tasty.well presented. Would recommend
