Santa Quaranta

Went to Santa Quaranta Sunday evening in a group of six and we all chose from the Happy Hour menu. The service was really good and the starters and main courses were absolutely delicious, and the portions were very generous. The atmosphere is good and the staff are attentive and keen to please. The music is nice and not too loud. The manager, Dimitri, deserves to make a great success of this restaurant. I wish them all well. We are very fortunate in a village the size of Delaval (with so many take-away places) to have a really good restaurant. Thanks!

We had a lovely meal this evening, service was great, food was tasty, well priced and there was no skimping on the portions… the wine was very good too… all very happy and will definitely visit again! Thankyou

My wife and I visited Santa Quaranta this evening and given how busy it was we were pleased we had reaves a table for 1800hrs. This is the first time we have been back since this was “reborn” as a Greek eaterie and by golly what a good job they have made over the refit! Had it not been just 9c outside you could very easily think you were sitting down for dinner at a lovely harbour side restaurant in Skiathos o a warm August evening! The fit is typically Greek with lovely Greek scenery on wall pictures, and a bar area that was very welcoming and well stocked.! We were early so elected to sit at the small bar while perusing both the daily Happy Hour menu and the normal main menu both of which had a lovely choice of both starters, mains and sweets typically Greek in their description and presentation. At the end of the bar was the kitchen very visible to customers leaving one in no doubt the staff and management have nothing to hide and plenty to shout about! A pint of lager was £4.45 and a large glass of chilled Sauvignon was similarly priced, both were very nice! The restaurant seems to be owned or, at least managed by Anna an Athenian lady who has lived over here over 3 years, she had a lovely welcoming personality and could not do enough to ensure all was well able assisted by young Rhiannon a new waitress of just one week but who was lovely and very keen to ensure everyone was well looked after. The food was nothing short of beautiful! Lot’s of choices to be made all typically Greek and very reasonably presented. We had Beef Stifado and Lamb Kleftiko and believe me both were fabulous, the meat on my lsmb falling off the bone and melting in the mouth. Even the shared Garlic bread with cheese to start was fresh, hot and very tasty. With 3rounds of drinks, 2 courses our bill including a well deserved tip was £60 - and excellent value for money. I am afraid by recommending unreservedly it will be harder to get a table but Anna and the staff have a fabulous product and everyone we came across looked like they were having a great time. Try this restaurant you will not be disappointed and take yourself to Skiathos, or Zante, or Kefalonia or even Athens and ENJOY!!!! Well done Anna we will be back and that’s a promise!!!

Outstanding from start to finish, starters of vine leaves, white bait, mushrooms, Spinach and ricotta pie, Mains including mixed grills, chicken salad, sea bass, And deserts of Tiramisu and balaclava. All I can say is, best greek food I've had in the NE, staff are phenomenal, friendly, attentive, generous and a good laugh. Thoroughly nice people and food with good facilities, a diamond in the rough of seaton delaval.

Lovely restaurant local to my area. Friendly and polite staff and the food is always scrumptious. Can't fault it.
