We have been quite a few times for drinks and have always enjoyed the ambience and music.When we heard good reviews about food we decided to give it a go.
We visited last Saturday for breakfast and both had the full breakfast ..it was cooked perfectly,great portions and excellent value for money.The staff were friendly and the service was also very good.
I hope more people try this great place out.
We will definitely be back ..and great that they are also dog friendly 😃

Excellent freshly cooked breakfast at a really great price - inclusive of hot drink and toast. Possibly the best quality breakfast in Selby. Service was great too. Very pleasant atmosphere. There is a great offer of local beers and a decent main menu for food other than breakfast. We will return again to try the beers and food.

Great pub day and night. The staff are all so friendly and couldn't be more accommodating. My partner and I are following a low carb diet and they always smash it when we go for breakfast. Great value for money too.
Evenings are busy but never intimidating. Great atmosphere with the added bonus of live music most weekends.
Kid friendly with games available to keep them entertained and dog friendly too.

It was our first time in and we both really loved it. It had a really nice feel about it, even though it was quite quiet, as we'd gone in early.

What a gem find in little Selby. Great, modern and vibrant place. Very clean, lovely decorated, fantastic Esspreso Martini, food menu that is not a dead boring fatty heart attack recipe. Well and there is staff. That's why I love coming up north. People ate just lovely. Period.

Visited yesterday evening in a party of 4. We were the only customers. We loved how the place was decorated it looked great.
The service though was very amateurish. A waitress came over to us after about 10 minutes. We asked about the gourmet burgers on the menu as there wasn"t a price next to them and there were also a normal burger section ( there were 32 different burgers on the menu)so we wanted ro know the difference. The waitress didnt smile or greet us and was surly. She said no gourmet burgers. So we said we needed a few minutes to chose something else. She flounced off. I would have thought she would have said something like ok ill come back in a few minutes? Or can i take your drink order? But no nothing. We waited a while I wasnt bothered about staying because i didnt feel welcome. After no sign of the waitress i walked the length of the pub to the bar , where she was stood. Ordered the food, again not a smile or a word just wrote it down and took it in the kitchen. The bar man seemed pleasant enough poured the drinks and said i will get the waitress to bring it over. I said i will take 2 with me. No sign of the waitress so i got the rest of the drinks. When the food was put in front of us it looked dreadful . Lasagne dry as a bone and burnt in one corner Horrid taste.. Fish cakes ok. Chilli didnt have a ounze of moisture in it. I dont even know how you could even get a chilli bone dry. It was thrown over rice no seperate dish ( how it is always served) Tasted weird. Was awful not worth the money. We were not asked if we needed any sauces or anything. Food just slammed down.The table next to us was not cleared from previous customers, even though there was no one else in

We visited Selby yesterday for a family reunion, it being a mid-way point for us all but not knowing the town particularly well, we looked for recommendations on where to eat and No 1 The Crescent was mentioned a few times as being excellent and we weren't disappointed. Kate the owner looked after us really well and the food was excellent, with good-sized portions at sensible prices. Would highly recommend. Thank you Kate for looking after us :)

Great looking place inside lovely friendly staff and manager unfortunately the food was ordinary the chips were a let down with the burger as they looked deep fried to hell with very little potato in them.The place is new and it's early days could be a gem if the food lived up to the place itself.

We went here this evening as it was recommended by someone we know. We booked but didn't need to as it wasn't busy. The waitress didn't even acknowledge that we were there and she was stood right near the door. There were no specials on which I found odd for a Saturday night so not an awful lot to choose from off the menu in my opinion. My husband ordered ribs he said they were ok. I had a burger it was dry and wouldn't recommend ordering it. We had cocktails too, really cheap but understand why as can't taste any alcohol in them. I don't think we will be returning!

Well we have been in twice now to No 1 , on our first visit we had a burger and steak pie , the burger was delish and a good portion size , the steak although a little over done was gran too , been in catering and knowing it was only day 2 for these guys we understand ovens take a bit of getting used too and as a totally new venue we think they are doing a grand job , with the help of a couple of extra pairs of hands No 1 has great promise . Rome was not built in a day !! Second visit was for a quick cappiciono after a Sunday stroll , and it hit the spot thank you , hot , fresh and not too pricie and a nice mug full , cheers Tony .

After a shakey first visit, my second was much improved. They've clearly been listening to feedback and have made some improvements.
The menu is odd. Lists a whole load of burgers, but then tells you only some are available and to check the specials board. Equally having a board of beer and marking up which 3 you have with chalked numbers rather than put labels on the pumps is an odd way of going about things. I'd be wary of bringing vegetarian friends too, there's very very little by way of options (the salad section doesn't even include a non meat option), and some of those that appear to be suitable aren't listed as (v) for instance the Veggie Burger is (v) but the Vegetable Chilli isn't(?!)
The food as delivered was good, although those with a desire for their burgers to be "done" beware... Pink burgers are served! The Lasagne is excellent and compares exceedingly well with the competition. (It even came with cutlery and sauces ;-))
All in all getting closer to the expectations it set, but has the potential to do well. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and be back again sometime.

Really lovely meal today for my dads 70th. We all enjoyed it and were suitably stuffed. The place looks fantastic and so different to the Albion we all remember (and where my dad had his first pint). Thanks to Kate for putting up with constant badgering from the kids and keepng them quiet with orange slices �.

My friends and I chose Selby's newest venue for a meal last night, and we weren't disappointed. The evening wasn't perfect, but they're still finding their feet. The waiter was so friendly and even apologised for not knowing all the drinks at the bar. We were very impressed with the service, and the food too. Although I didn't get to try the pie as they had run out. Maybe next time!

Went here with my friend for lunch and drinks one Saturday afternoon a few weeks back as it was recommended to me as somewhere different to try. The food was delicious, wine reasonably priced, lots of cocktails and the service was very friendly! It was so nice I'm going back this week with my Husband!!!!
