Have eaten here quite a few times and have never been disappointed. The Sunday lunches are amazing with, I would think, enough to fill the hungriest appetite.
Off the menu the fish pies are lovely. The scampi is good. The liver, the sausages and the lasagne are also good. We still have others to try. All at very reasonable prices too.
In this pub the home made chips really are what I would call proper freshly cooked chips and put to shame some of other places that say home made chips then churn out soggy wedges that have obviously been pre cooked and warmed up.
All in all a friendly welcoming pub with good food, good beer and lovely warm fires when the weather is cool.
A big thank you to Emma and Lee.
Really good food and drink ,prices are good service great .Two open fires lovely traditional pub
Probably one of the nicest most serene pints I've ever had. Friendly staff, lovely pub and fantastic beer garden. Great value too, will certainly return.
A real pub with price's that will make you feel guilty for just having one.
'Its a great country pub." It is small, friendly and oldy-worldy... This is a 'gem' and is well worth a visit. Lee and Emma will make you feel welcome... Have known the pub for about 16 years. Tip: Nuzzle up next to the Yorkshire Range, if its a chilly night. Or in summer, as it is now, catch the tail of the Scarecrow Festival if you can...
First time at this Pub. What a thoroughly lovely Landlady. Proper English Pub will pop in again.
Friendly Sam Smiths village pub. Log fires on in 2 rooms nice and cosy. Dart board available. Typical Sams... I like it but not for everyone. Nice pint of Old Brewery.
Great pub with friendly staff - a good pint of Pure brewed lager..FAB!
I live near Wakefield but have be going to the Roebuck for over 30yrs. It has always had a warm welcoming atmosphere and we are all delighted that it re opened earlier this year. Thank you Joanne and Mandy 😃xx
Nice friendly little village, today was scarecrow day and had lots of people looking and judging the best one's
Sam Smith's classic old country pub, but no real ale and only Sam Smith products.
No phones or music allowed inside so you have the phone users hanging out with the smokers outside
Called in for the first time - excellent pint of Sam Smith’s old brewery bitter. Food excellent, nicely presented, very good value. Friendly staff - a nice lunch time all round.
