The Courtyard Dairy Cafe

A cheese lover's dream. We visit to buy our cheese, have used their delivery service, and even bought our cheese wedding cake from here. On every single occasion their staff have been passionate, knowledgeable and friendly. And their cheese! Wow. If you appreciate local and British cheese (with some European classics thrown in), you will not be disappointed. Sometimes there's a queue to get in and get served but that's because people quite rightly travel to pay them a visit, and it's certainly worth the wait. Also, check out Rind, their adjoining pizza restaurant - great food and amazing views!

Came across this place by accident on our way home from Scotland and what a lovely place it is. It was worth stopping just for the awesome smell of cheese alone as soon as you walk through the door of the cheese shop. All the staff were really friendly and the lady who served us offered a small piece of each cheese we were interested in to make sure we liked it. If you want cheap supermarket mass produced cheese this isn't the place for you. If you want high quality cheese made by small independent cheese makers and farmers that you wouldn't get elsewhere many of them local, served by friendly knowledgeable cheesemongers then this is definitely the place to come.

If you like cheese then this is the place to go! One of the friendly staff will recommend cheeses based on your preferences and let you sample them. There is a cafe with a limited menu (pizzas mostly) but they do have a cheese sample board with matching sides which I would recommend. There is also an interesting "history of cheese" museum which is also worth a look.

Great shop, very busy but very organised and very personal service. They let you sample everything you are interested in. Genuinely a great experience and fantastic cheese. Also bought ice creams from the vending machine outside, top class product, well recommended if you are in the area. And the wine shop too, well worth a shot, massive choice and sampling. Thank you.

What a cheese shop! Amazing knowledge, friendly staff and a love of what they are doing. The cheeses they showcase are fantastic! The quality of the cheeses ensures that they offer you exceptional value for your money. The place comes with an added bonus of a wine shop where you can pair wine/cheese. My idea of a one stop shop.

Court Yard Dairy is a fantastic place to visit if you're a cheese lover. The staff are amazing with great knowledge of all the products they look after and sell. On this occasion we booked the adjoining restaurant Rind it is a beautiful place with the best views. Fab staff, wonderful tasty pizza and high quality of the price. Definitely recommend. Everthing was delicious.

Delicious pizzas with a variety of unusual but fab combinations of toppings. Reasonable prices, delicious salads and desserts as well as amazing cheese board. V friendly and attentive staff, I'd advise you to book. Cheese shop is the best I've ever been to, the staff and owner are enthusiastic and clearly love the cheeses and other products they are selling. I can't wait to return or get a home delivery.

Having drove past umpteen times, we visted today and were totally surprised. This place is nothing short of awesome! A large car park with disabled bays. An exceptional wine shop with knowledgeable staff, wine tasting and a superb global wine selection. A self serve cheese, ice cream or coffee vending area. A cheese shop from heaven with a great friendly, knowledgeable team and a huge selection of cheeses with the chance to taste beforehand alongside the team providing the details and background of the cheeses. There is also a cheese making museum located on route to the restaurant. We look forward to returning.

What a gem. Self service goods at the front if you’re in a rush and the most amazing selection of cheeses I’ve ever seen! Prepare your senses when you first enter. Lovely, helpful and friendly staff, bought some goats cheese and sheep’s cheese. The real deal. It was raining on this visit but the outdoor area looks great when the weather behaves.
