Great pub with the most breathtaking view from the decking in the back of the pub.🎉
Great atmosphere and staff were friendly.😃
Service was great, menu selection was interesting and I went for the Fish Pie....my wife had poached peach.
The Fish Pie smelt amazing when it came out ...the only down side was it was ⅔ mash and very little fish pie filling....really disappointed and did not touch the taste buds. My minted peas was tasty!!
My wife's poached peach looked amazing and tasted well nice.
Won't prevent us popping in again.
The beer was great too🥳🎉🥳
Fabulous anniversary meal. Great location and service. Ella and Lauren were very attentive without being intrusive. A lovely touch with deserts - thank you! Definitely recommend the Mitre for service and views across the vale.
Food was amazing, didn't expect it to be so tasty. The lamb croquette was wonderful as was the yogurt and cucumber accompaniment. Perfect as a light main. Everyone in our party was happy with their choices. My pineapple daiquiri was light and fresh. The food took a bit of time arriving hence the 4 stars, but it was worth the wait! All the staff waited on us and there was no confusion about any of the orders. Well done!
The Mitre Shaftesbury - Sunday 6th Aug 23.
Stopped off on our return from Wales. Warm welcome, swift service from the bar tender (thanks). Exceptional view from decking at the back of pub....Great for every age !
Thanks Julian & Amanda
Despite The Lack Of People, This Pub Has Tons Of Seating Options to Choose From.
There is the Main Pub With A Bar Including Double Decker Doors Leading Into The Bar
Going Outside Leads To 3 Balconies Connected By Stairs. However, The View Is Lacking Renovations With An Old Garden From The Previous Owners. Other Than That,
The Toilets Are Not Clean With Water Spilt On The Floor. The Best Part Of The Bar Is The Valley View With More Tables To Sit On.
The staff Is kind And A Good Team Member To Work With.
Overall This Pub Is Underrated Because It's Pet Friendly with dog bouls, Kid Friendly With Kid Menus and has Nice Staff That Treats You Like A King.
I popped in for a spontaneous lunch. I choose the steak, which was utterly delicious! Followed by sticky toffee pudding. The atmosphere was nice, the staff were very attentive and friendly, especially Wiktor, Abi and Tori. It’s well worth the visit, I can’t fault the place!
Courteous, friendly service. Food was well presented, perfectly cooked and delicious. I asked for a side salad like that which came with the meal, which I had enjoyed before, rather than the menu side salad and chef obliged. Surprisingly good atmosphere for a Monday, others eating in the dining area and a buzz from drinkers in the bar. Thanks for an enjoyable evening.
Great old pub with the most fabulous views out the back terrace.
Went in for some light bites. Scalops and lamb croquettes starters incredibly scrummy. The coronation crab was a disappointment. Great concept but the sourdough came untoasted and chunky slices which were difficult to eat. The crab tasted like it only included a small amount of brown crab meat and was overpowered by the sultanas. Contained well balanced aromatic spices, if only it had more crab taste and white crab meat texture. Salad garnish was great, really like the capers and radish.
Had the loveliest Sunday roast here. Absolutely delicious. Really easy to get to to with parking nearby. Dog friendly. Lovely views at the back overlooking the fields with a lovely tiered terrace area. Will definitely go back
