Great pub with the most breathtaking view from the decking in the back of the pub.πŸŽ‰ Great atmosphere and staff were friendly.πŸ˜ƒ Service was great, menu selection was interesting and I went for the Fish Pie....my wife had poached peach. The Fish Pie smelt amazing when it came out ...the only down side
Fabulous anniversary meal. Great location and service. Ella and Lauren were very attentive without being intrusive. A lovely touch with deserts - thank you! Definitely recommend the Mitre for service and views across the vale.
Food was amazing, didn't expect it to be so tasty. The lamb croquette was wonderful as was the yogurt and cucumber accompaniment. Perfect as a light main. Everyone in our party was happy with their choices. My pineapple daiquiri was light and fresh. The food took a bit of time arriving hence the 4 s
The Mitre Shaftesbury - Sunday 6th Aug 23. Stopped off on our return from Wales. Warm welcome, swift service from the bar tender (thanks). Exceptional view from decking at the back of pub....Great for every age ! Thanks Julian & Amanda
Despite The Lack Of People, This Pub Has Tons Of Seating Options to Choose From. There is the Main Pub With A Bar Including Double Decker Doors Leading Into The Bar Going Outside Leads To 3 Balconies Connected By Stairs. However, The View Is Lacking Renovations With An Old Garden From The Previous O
I popped in for a spontaneous lunch. I choose the steak, which was utterly delicious! Followed by sticky toffee pudding. The atmosphere was nice, the staff were very attentive and friendly, especially Wiktor, Abi and Tori. It’s well worth the visit, I can’t fault the place!
Courteous, friendly service. Food was well presented, perfectly cooked and delicious. I asked for a side salad like that which came with the meal, which I had enjoyed before, rather than the menu side salad and chef obliged. Surprisingly good atmosphere for a Monday, others eating in the dining area
Great old pub with the most fabulous views out the back terrace.
Went in for some light bites. Scalops and lamb croquettes starters incredibly scrummy. The coronation crab was a disappointment. Great concept but the sourdough came untoasted and chunky slices which were difficult to eat. The crab tasted like it only included a small amount of brown crab meat and w
Had the loveliest Sunday roast here. Absolutely delicious. Really easy to get to to with parking nearby. Dog friendly. Lovely views at the back overlooking the fields with a lovely tiered terrace area. Will definitely go back
Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Service with a smile and the staff went the extra mile for us. We sat outside admiring the stunning view. Keep it chaps. See you all again soon.πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚

Lovely Sunday lunch with my friends. Delicious food served by a lovely young lady called Ella. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit
We shared the ploughmans which was delicious and the quality was really excellent. Beer was terrific and all the staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful and added to the lovely atmosphere. Thank you! It is so brilliant to have such a great pub in the middle of Shaftesbury which is proving to be
When a place has such beautiful views it’s easy to rely on them to pull in customers, especially tourists. However, The Mitre is so much more offering great service (always so considerate, friendly and accommodating) and the food is fab. We are locals and keep returning because it’s just an excellen
Bar staff are brilliant. Have my favourite beer here 'Proper Job' . Spectacular views from beer garden. James was our server and nothing was too much trouble for him...he was very professional. Excellent all round. Definitely going back and would recommend highly.
Lovely location with fabulous vistas. Service friendly and helpful, not a place if you are in a rush. Great food, large portions, at reasonable prices. Sausages great, Desserts scrumy.
What a lovely pub, quite oldie worldie, great selection of beer, wines and spirits, the beer garden was beautiful all fairy lights, it had over head heaters to keep you warm, great music, a lovely place to chill out have a meal or just a drink or 2
