Everytime me and my partner come in no matter how quiet the staff always make it a fun evening plus by the canal it is a nice setting.

Popped in on the off chance they had a table free on Saturday early evening. They sorted a table for us, food was beautiful, we both had gammon and all the things that come with it 😂, it was the best gammon meal we have had in a long time, decided to take on pud so we could have it a bit later, that was lovely as well, would definately recommend it. 😊😊😊

We were a group of 8,table had been pre booked. Very busy place, but nice atmosphere. Food came very quickly,considering the amount of diners. Couldn't fault the food, portion were large,and was piping hot. I highly recommend the steak and mushroom pie.... delicious 😋

Fantastic giant homemade cornish pasty chips & mushy peas with a jug of tasty gravy off the specials board washed down with great lily's cider!! The new inn never disappoints.

We booked a table here for 5.30 pm knowing from experience how busy this gem of a pub gets ! Arrived about 5pm and ordered drinks and we were seated at our requested table . ( Other establishments please take note … if a customer requests a certain table then they should expect to be seated there , not somewhere nearby.)
We were served our drinks by a very nice , polite young lady ,Evie who reminded us that we couldn’t order food til 5.30pm
Creatures of habit we ordered cheesy chicken from the lite bites menu … having pestered Jeremy , another excellent member of staff to take our order .
The pub was filling up fast , many people were sitting outside enjoying the delightful view of the canal and barges .
We didn’t wait long and soon the meals were in front of us , piping hot as usual. The kitchen staff must be working their socks off !
We would definitely recommend the New Inn to anyone in the area

I actually had the Ham n cheese salad! A decent plate of salad, 2 slices of processed ham (disappointing) but overall, very nice. Best of all the young waitress didn't look at me like I was a Martian when I asked if they had salad cream & positively beamed when she said yes!! Will deffo come back!!!

Best fish and chips I've had anywhere! Came here for a quiet drink the other night with my wife and decided to have some food here. Jeremy behind the bar was exceptional; a young lad with impeccable customer service. Professional and courteous. We then ordered fish and chips and the service was A1. No long wait times and the food was hot and fresh. The fish and chips were 10/10. The young lad that came out with the food has got to be mentioned too. Again, exceptional service. Just wonderful to see this kind of thing, as it's a dying art. We spoke to the chef on his way out as it was near the end of the night when we were leaving (Monday 07/08/2023) and commended him on the lovely food. We'll definitely be coming here again and again. A lovely pub with great service. Eat and drink here, and I strongly recommend the fish and chips!
