Great night last night, friendly staff, really enjoyed the fish platter starter for £18.00, fed four of us. We all had mains, 2 puds, 1 x bottle of Sauvignon blanc, half litre of house red, 1 x bottle of coke, and 1 x cappuccino, all for £133.00. As we left, the place was full, and people being turned away to come back later. Great value, friendly, excellent service, good quality food. Thank you
We all had a delicious, lovely meal and the staff were extremely attentive and helpful. I had fish and it was so fresh! Would recommend to others!
We visited on a busy Saturday night with friends. The food was great. We had starters, mains and desserts and all courses were delicious. I would recommend as a casual place to eat at Lunch or dinner. Really relaxed and great service Thank you
In Sheffield for a few days on holiday and was recommended this place so thought I'd give go
Wasn't disappointed from start to finish
Even through you can't book a table here we didn't have to wait long to get one
Friendly greeting on arrival to a well fitted out vibrant restaurant that was buzzy but not over noisy
On sitting down your presented with a massive menu nicely presented on black boards on the wall, great choice across all courses making the choice rather difficult
Service is efficient and friendly with drink and food orders coming up quickly
Food across all courses was well presented, fresh and very tasty and plenty of it and at good prices
We left the there happy, content with full belly's and having not burnt a hole in our pockets
Would definitely go back if ever in the area
Excellent!. The food is divine and the service is excellent. The food is rustic and looks amazing, however some of the food comes on wooden platters and is therefore sometimes a bit messy.
Enjoy!
Highly Recommended. This is the most reliable restaurant in my neighbourhood.
The service is great, not snoooty, not disinterested - but friendly professional and warm.
The food is just great. Tasty, generous portions.
You can't reserve a table, which means if its full you might not get a seat.
Actually why am I telling you this? I want a seat! Stay away!
I really enjoyed my evening, Excellent !!!
A fantastic meal. Food took along time to come but a great evening
Very warm welcome as soon as we walked through the door and the high standards followed all the way through our visit. Great food and a very nice bitter on tap from a local brewery. Definitely recommended!

Thyme cafe. Always excellent, great atmosphere, very bustling. An ever evolving blackboard menu offers fantastic choice and good value. Don't deliberate for too long, take a chance and order something unusual, they will not let you down
Nice food, I can strongly reccomend the burger, it's yummy!
Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff. Nice you can book online to secure a table. Food was lovely - nice to get a proper pie (not just a lid) and the steak filling was delicious. The Spanish stew from the specials board was also delicious. Big dessert portions. I chose the bread and butter pudding.
Call me old fashioned, but all I ask from a bistro/restaurant is... serve me hot food, in fair portions that appears to have had a little effort put into it.
I've been to Thyme twice now, and on both occasions, they've excelled in each metric. You might laugh, but lukewarm food seems to be a trend nowadays, but not for Thyme — always piping hot, fresh and bearing the hallmarks of 'made right now, entirely from scratch... just for you... no warmed-up nonsense here.'
On each visit, I ordered form the set menu; going for the burger both times. Good lord. Huge! Huge, piping hot & tasty. The presentation is quite something, too... and that is what I mean about 'effort' — these guys excel in the areas other restaurants often overlook; final execution. Everything is so beautifully arranged/assembled on the plate (or board if you order a burger). Today, I ordered the Crispy Cajun marinated chicken burger and it looked majestic — not just huge, but meticulously presented. In fact, such was the display, that I felt as though eating it would undermine the chef's diligence and craft. I did eat it, of course, and the taste matched the sight — elite!
For dessert, I ordered the apple & blackberry crumble. In a word... otherworldly. Top 3 crumbles of all time, easily. The topping had bite and crunch, while the filling was chunky, smooth and sweet... but crucially, not sickly sweet. Beautifully balanced. Of course... it was hot, now warm, hot! Bravo.
Finally, the team — always friendly, always attentive, always make you feel at home.
Love this place — a real gem.
We arrived at a Saturday lunchtime, it was very busy but we were given a table straight away. Very nice ambiance and extensive blackboard menu.
The fish & chips were excellent, the fish was superbly cooked.
The vegetarian salad was nice with many ingredients, although I expected the roasted butternut squash to be warm.
The halloumi was slightly warm, but I would have preferred the other ingredients to be closer to room temperature than fridge cold.
Great choice: Menu + Boards & Specials. Reasonable prices. Excellent service. 3 of us chose different dishes, all of us enjoyed lovely food. Attractive patio area, will come back when it's hot to eat outside.
Popular place on the Friday night we had booked, luckily. Great choice of dishes on the menu and we had made them aware of dietary issues beforehand so they did offer a choice of the dishes without gluten and dairy. The food we had was very good as looked all the dishes we saw delivered to other tables nearby. Seating is quite basic and tables are quite close but it was comfortable. Not a lot of parking nearby as it's in a busy area.
As good as ever, one of Sheffield's absolute best restaurants. Great vibe and positive atmosphere. Food superb!!
Delicious food and lovely staff. We chose from the set menu and all really enjoyed what we had. Very good prices too.
The staff were lovely and very helpful.
11 of us went here for a family celebration and amongst us we had some special dietary needs i.e. gluten intolerant, vegetarian, a seafood allergy. They had a varied menu that offered options to accommodate the dietary needs. The portions were large and inviting and whilst it was not cheap, it was value for money. I have added a few photos of the three meat Sunday lunch, the salmon etc that we were actually served up so you can judge for yourselves.
Tremendous food, people, place. Would make it a regular spot. Fish cakes and their burgers are beyond compare. Check out the specials board, too, for that unusual dish you weren't expecting. On hot days, try to reserve a table in the outside garden, hard to believe you're not in Sheffield.
We did one of the taster menu evenings. Food, service and value for money were all excellent! Thanks from Karen, Gabriella and Emilio
