I am a Chinese student in the UK. I cried and called the head office after the lunch at Meadowhall ChaoBaby resteraunt. Everything was good till I paid the bill. The Thai waitress called Dell kept chatting with the person who was paying and I asked: Excuse me, I am here to pay. She rolled her eyes and gave me the terrible look, told me: the receipt is not coming out. Well, I did not know she was waiting the receipt and I received that attitude. After I paid, she did not say thank you to me, then I wanted to complain to the manager directly. They lied that manager was not in store that day and after I refused to go, the manager called Michael showed up. I have to admit that probably used the wrong word when I described the waitress Dell's face to me. I said her face is like telling me f* off. Then the manager said: you cannot swear me, I am not doing anything to my staff, u got your student discount and go. I think he knows I did not swear him and he just wants me to go without letting his staff apologize. I feel unbelievable that a manager deal with a customer in this way. I am a Chinese student and I went to Chaobaby for lunch alone. It does not mean that I am not important and I can be treated like that. I called head office and I feel hopeless and crying. No one treated me like that and I feel so upset. I did not receive the apologize as the manager thinks I am the wrong one and they are right. Obviously if the manager dealt things like that, I can do nothing about it but pathetically writing a review to express my sadness and my experience.

Thought I would try this restaurant as it looked popular, I like Thai food and the price seemed quite reasonable for an all you can eat. Went in on a Friday night, was shown to table by a polite waitress with no explanation about what was to happen next. A couple who were seated to the side of my gf and I arrived well after us, but they had their drink order taken very quickly, much to our dismay. Eventually we got our drinks, which were very expensive, but this seems to be the norm for Meadowhall these days, no wonder why people are drinking at home!! We then went to help ourself to the buffet. The food was ok, but wouldn't call it hot. The plates were tiny, so if you are hungry you need to bring a few sets of extra hands with you, as you will have to return again and again to the food area. People were pushing and shoving to get to the food, which wasn't a pleasant experience and if you end up being seated where we were, you will clock up some walking time going backwards and forwards, as the food was situated about 20m away from our table. All in all the restaurant was ok, but I dont think we will be revisiting it anytime soon.
